  • One For My Homies....

....Because you'd have to be one of my homies to actually be reading this.

YES!...it's been a long, long time.  Much has happened in my life, but I'll neither spend my time nor waste yours getting us all caught up.  The short version is as follows:

I've been BUSY!!!  Sometimes my busy is a productive type of busy...as in working on the house or working hard at my job, and sometimes my busy is watching a select few television shows or some random poker tournament that happens to be on (even if it's the 5th time I've seen it).  I've been actively writing music and atmospheric type stuff for the animation team at my work, but lately I've got the itch.  I realize that I'm far passed the days of being able to scratch the shit outta that itch, but a little diggin', or maybe some anti-itch ointment, isn't really out of the question.  I had started playing some really great tunes with Rick, Steven and Sara about a year ago, but the new addition to family (who is HUGE and doing awesome, by the way) put a hold on that that has since become an inevitable falling apart.  There simply aren't enough days in the week for me to do a band.....at least not at the level that I'm use to doing it at.  So my only option at this point is to do it solo.  I've been putting together pieces to a few new tunes that I'm hoping to complete in the next few weeks.  Since it's my own gig, I can take as long as I want....which is kinda nice, actually.  I hope to launch the solo stuff by the end of summer ("Launch" = have a handful of songs written and at least 2 or 3 recorded and posted to the virtual world).  I'm a little torn between 2 styles at this point and I'm gonna try my best to mix them into 1, but if for some reason it turns out sounding like ass I might just say to hell with it and write a bunch of both types.  Either way, I'll keep everything to myself until it's ready....though I'm sure anyone who knows me can guess at least 2 of the influences.

In "daddy / family" type news....Petra is turning 3 next month and is potty trained!!!  Woo-Hoo....no more changing diapers.  For those without little ones, trust me....wiping a potty trained ass is so much better than cleaning up a diaper mess.

Also, Jenn became a licensed realtor about 2 weeks ago and got a job with Equity Reality in Baltimore.  If anyone is buying or selling a house in the Baltimore area, give Jenn a shout.  She's awesome at this stuff.

Ok, I've said it many a time...maybe I'll make this posting thing a habit....but probably not.

  • So I switched up the colors on this thing in an attempt to inspire a post.  It's been a few months since the last one and I must say, I don't miss it all that much.  It seems like most people have migrated to myspace....you know, that sex predator haven a few blocks over with all of the ugly advertisements?  I haven't talked myself into that yet.

Here's a quick sample of one of the tunes I've written for the animation team at my job (assuming it works).  I just finished one last week that I'd love to share but the sensitivity of the whole project has me nervous about even posting the music.

This tune was set to random animations the team has completed.....kind of as a promotional tool.  The newer stuff is a little more movie score-ish and less melody driven.

Anyway, maybe I'll start posting more often....maybe not.

  • COMMUNAL CRAPPERS....

If there's 1 thing above anything else that pisses me off about the bathrooms at my work it's the communal crappers.  You know, the guys that come in just after you've gotten comfortable, slam the stall door next to yours, plop down on an unwiped-off seat and practically explode out of their ass a mere 3 feet from you.  It's disgusting, and I do my best to wrap it up and get out of there before the grunting and moaning begins.

I'm sorry, but if I have to drop one off I want some privacy.  If I go into the bathroom and there's already 1 stall occupied, I'll walk to the next one (especially since there are at least 6 bathrooms in my building).  It's only respectful, and the decent thing to do.  These guys that come in and drop off half of their colon, knowing good and well that there's someone trying to take care of business right next door, need to get some manners.
