| Out of EdenWhen I was in 8th grade, I did a skit for a intercity missions with Seoul Baptist's Youth group. I was fairly new to the church (about a month) and was picked by David Kim to do a skit with Miri Jung on the song "out of eden"
The line "looking for love in all the wrong places" pretty much sums up the skit. I'm a guy that gets attracted to a girl and gives her my heart. My heart gets beaten and it gets broken/shattered. Then when I gave it up to God, it was all great again and I continued on and ignored the pretty girl (she was haha).
All of us were born with a tremendous appetite for love, a heart hungry for relationships. Just like a food run to the fridge during those commercials, we may be tempted to grab whatever promises to satisfy us immediately.
We rarely think about the consequences.
In your gut, you know full well what is good and what is not good for you; yet we put that aside because we aren't concerned with that. Since it wasn't good for us to begin with, we will become more hungry and more desperate than before for more.
It's sad to realize how many people try to satisfy their souls with emotional "junk". They fill up on all sorts of things that aren't good for them. A girl continuously goes into strings of relationships trying to find the right guy but ends up not finding him because they were wrong in the first place.
A girl can't stand the silence of her room so she stays on the move all the time in shopping, parties, school social events. She feeds on the business because she can't bear the though of letting her guard down long enough to reflect on her life.
A teenager plagued by awkwardness in social situations hops into an internet chat room (or game) where he can pretend to be anyone he chooses. It's a feeling of freedom and power but its not real; no one is closer to truly knowing who he really is, only the character he created. (mr pimpyee)
Also there are ways to starve off emotional hunger. If anyone knows anything about drugs, they make you lose your appetite. Some people drink or get high; some use sex. Others buy into the shallow promises of materialism. You can even do it with work or entertainment.
What we truly need is turning to the real nourishment that comes from a true connection with God and honest relationships with others.
A bible verse really reflects on this:
1 "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. 2 Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. - Isaiah 55:1-2 Woe to you that are well fed now, for you will grow hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will weep and mourn. -Luke 6:23
We have this truth right in front of us; yet we waste our time on things that don't really satisfy our hunger. They always damage our souls and lead us deeper into the grave that we are digging.

| The movie "fallen" is something to see. In order to fight evil, one must believe in good. Fighting a demon is scary and requires sacrifice. I wont spoil it but its definitely someting to see. Tests, studying, no sleep, sickness, and the usual are all part of the week "Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life... to work with your hands, just as we have told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody" -1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

| Make others believe God works through you -Be joyful and give thanks to the lord | | |
| Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Colossians 3:9-10 Back to the crunch once again. Have a wonderful week~ | | |
| tripWell, I should do long drives more often. I think of such great ideas when I just sit in the car going 70-80 for a few hours. As far as the 21th birthday, it was great and relaxing. Now to stop dreaming, and make it come true. | | |
