Happiness Continues....

Things are going great so far. My first semester here at Mid- Continent University has gone well. I received a better grade then I thought I would at the end of the semester! THANK YOU MY LORD AND SAVIOR!!

Ansil and I are doing FABULOUSLY! My  "FAVORITE" older sister, brother-in-law and niece (and her cousin) took a road trip and came and got me from Kentucky. Ansil came to my house for Christmas this year. My dad and I traveled to Chicago and picked him up. ( A friend of ours who's on the basketball team brought him to Chicago.) My poor dad got lost  IN Chicago, but we all  found one another and had a smooth time going the rest of the way home. It was an experience of "firsts' for Ansil this Christmas season.

  • First time to Wisconsin, the furtherst North he's ever been.
  • First time to " Meet the Parents and Family."
  • First time in so much snow.
  • First time ever having an ice cream float.
  • First time snow sledding.
  • First time watching  Cinderella Man.
  • First time hearing me sing a "special" at church. ( I only squeaked once... but I had a cold!)
  • First time sharing Christmas with me.
  • First time having the stomach flu. ( Poor Guy.)

Ansil and I came back to Kentucky on the 26th of December. I KNOW! He had to be back early because of basketball practice. It was a great road trip with my parents. I think this was another time in life where I realized "Wow! When did life change so drasticly. When did I start living an adult life?" It was a good time with my parents and Ansil.

Once we reached Kentucky Ansil returned to the dorms at MCU and I headed off to my friend Emily's house to visit and stay. IT'S BEEN FUN!  Basicly I've been just lazing around thier house watching movies, surfing the internet,  watching America's Next Top Model and re organizing their household! LOL  I 've been able to see Ansil a few times, but we talk everyday on the phone.

Over all my life has been abundantly blessed by the Lord. I'm sorry this is so short and brief! May the Lord Jesus bless you all in this new year of 2008!

His name is Ansil Williams and I met him here at MCU.  God is AMAZING and does AMAZING things!  OK.... a tip for all those who are still single......Let the Lord write your love story in your life! I know this is short but... I'll update more when I can! GOTTA RUN!! So much to do and so little time to do it in!

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it! Proverbs 10: 22

HERE at MCU

OK!! It's been a while since I last updated! I'm here at MCU ( Mid-Continent University)! MCU is a VERY small university in Mayfield, KY. ( Like 20-30 minutes SOUTH of Paducah) It has an AWESOME soccer team! As well as basketball teams (guys and girls), volleyball, baseball and softball teams. I was really surprised at the how many of the students are international students!! Yup.....most of my friends are international students! ( Do Kentucky residents count as international students?)

 LIFE ON CAMPUS

LOVE my one and only roommate Diane whom I like to call Debbie. She's from Trinidad! She tiny, spunky, full of energy and MY AGE! hahaha! I'd post pictures but.....my camera died on me during Summer English camps. She keeps me laughing and takes care of me!

Beth Jordan is my RA and wonderful friend! She's FOREVER doing something.... and is ALWAYS smiley, cheerful and ready for a good laugh! I've been going to her home church here in Mayfield. However I'm going to a different church on Wednesday nights. But.....I'm not sure I'll be staying at either one of them for the rest of the semsester!

Paula Stinett is probably my bestest friend here. She's crazy! But keeps me accountable! Paula and I love ( and could talk about it for hours.....oh wait....we already do that) to talk about the Lord Jesus and what we have learned and what He's teaching us! We also love to talk about missions and ministry! She has a special place in her hear for Poland and I for Taiwan. Together....we share memories of our times in those places and excitedly wait to return to those countries. She's been a wonderful encouragement and blessing.

My favorite room to hang out in (besides my own and Paula's closet of a room) is Tiffany, Jamie and Dorrie's room! Tiffany and I met the weekend of orientation. (She and I were both roommateless at the time and transfered for the Education program.) Most of the time you can catch her looking at her phone texting her Shad. Jamie is crazy.....always smily and just happy. Like her crazy roommate Tiffany she too spends most of her day looking at her cell phone almost ready to giggle with glee at the sight of incoming texts from her knight in shinning armor.  DORRRIE is my FAVORITE Taiwanese girl here on campus! ( She's the only girl from Taiwan.....unless you count me! hahaha Most people think that I'm from Taiwan anyway because we talk in Chinese and Taiwanese hahaha) Dorrie spends most of her time studying, taking naps in the late afternoon and hanging out with Charles and Sam( My two favorite Taiwanese guys here on campus!) studying into the late hours of the night on week days. Dorrie transferred from Murrary State this year, so she goes back to the Asian/Taiwanese crowd from Murrary State every weekend. She and the guys ( Charles, and Sam) help me keep up with my Chinese.....which sadly ....I'm losing........*tears* Love them to bits! Together we miss Taiwan and all the beauty of it from dumplings, to night markets, and just life there in general!

ELEMENTARY EDUCATION! I KNOW I'M GOING TO ACE IT! THEN AGAIN.....MAYBE NOT

Well...it's not going BAD but ....it's not going the GREATEST either! haha! Perhaps it's just wanting it to ALL be easy! hahaha!  LET me put it in these terms....... It's like making a cake. You already know how to make a cake from scratch with out measuring anything. Your so good at it you decide that you want to open your own store but you have to go to get a licence first. You think to yourself  it can't be that hard!Once you get there you decided to use your wonderful cake as a project but.....your teachers want to know the measurement for everything you use........and you don't know how to tell them how to do it because you wing it everytime.

THAT"S how I feel about school! hahaha! Above it all I know that God has a plan for it all!  He's great! And I didn't ask to be placed here it was HIS idea! haha! SO glad I can say that!  SO he'll get me through it all!

IN OTHER NEWS

At the beginning of the month of October I went to the ER. I was shaking uncontrollably. Turns out my blood pressure was REALLY high. 185/120....or was it 185/140..... I forgot. My blood sugar level was normal, so it wasn't diabetes. To make a long story short.....I thought I was going to DIE a few times and I went and saw a Doctor. It turned out to be ........ta da......bronchitis, asthma, and chronic hypertension. WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED! Grrrr SO for all of you who saw me all sickly and deaf during summer camps know that I'm now healed! or ....at least on the mend!

My parents are doing well! My mom is doing good and loving her hair that's been growing in! My sister Shiloh is a busy little bee! She's working two jobs now one at Caribou Coffee and at the Buckle. Kyle is in love with Lindsey and loving it.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it home for Thanksgiving but I'm DEFINATELY going home for winter break!

Tomorrow starts my first day of "teaching" and "observing" ( different then student teaching) classes at a local elementary school! HAHA!  I think I'm going to have a culture shock from the Taiwanese schools I'm use too!

Well my shift is over so I must run! All you in Taiwan know that I love you and miss you all! And everyone else....... if I don't see you everyday..... know I love ya and miss ya too! hehehe! Hugs to my friends and family!

May the Lord Jesus Christ bless the rest of your week beyond anything you could imagine! God bless!

First off... I survived Camps!! While being sick with bronchitis, asthma, and allergies.( Didn't know you could have all that at once....)  Once I arrived on US soil ...it got better and could FINALLY BREATHE!!! IT WAS AN AWESOME MOMENT IN HISTORY!! ( long story....basically...I'm allergic to Taiwan.)
After being home for a week..... a little more then.... I headed to the Feig's house and met up with Daniel, Jello and Zackaris. The GIRLS ...were the ones who came and got me.... To the Last

Well here I am sitting at Shing Lung Elementary School for the last time! I have two more classes at Ying Pan which will be the conclusion to a long but memorable year of teaching in Nantou, Taiwan. Yes...... I'm returning to the U.S. It's a bittersweet feeling. I've truely fallen in love with Taiwan. It's like a second home to me. I so greatful to the Lord for giving me this chance to serve Him here and I hope He will have it planned in my future to return. His will I know will continue to be at work here in the heart of Taiwan giving the people hope and a future.

"Look among the nations and watch-- Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days Which you would not believe, though it were told you." ~ Habakkuk 1:5

He has done Just that ....astounded me with what He's been doing here in Nantou and I know it will not end.

Taiwan has truly   "Touched my Heart"

I hope Nantou won't forget 陸美梅 because I won't forget you.
