| Everyday I get a devotional on my email from an online website. Today's was incredible and I thought I would share it with all of you. It's about making a convenant with God, and then standing, believing, trusting and living in that convenant no matter what the devil (the world) tries to throw at you.
For those of you wondering . . . .the word "covenant" means : a usually formal, solemn, and binding agreement. In the bible covenant were made by blood, in the old testament, the blood of animal sacrifice and in the new testament Christ's blood.
So here it is . . .
March 30 - Dig Into Your Covenant
"This cup is the new covenant [ratified and established] in My blood." (1 Corinthians 11:25, Amp)
New Covenant. It's a familiar phrase to most of us. But do we really know what it means?
If we did, every one of us would be faith giants. Instead of struggling, "trying" to believe the promises of God, we'd be like Abraham. "Strong in faith...fully persuaded that, what God has promised, he is able to perform!" (Rom. 4:20-21).
That's the kind of confidence that welled up in Abraham when God cut the covenant with him. It was an inferior covenant to ours, made with the blood of animals. Yet it transformed a doubting Abraham into the very father of faith. Why? Because, Abraham understood the significance of it.
He knew that entering into the Covenant of Blood meant you were totally and forever giving yourself away to someone else. Once you did it, nothing would ever be exclusively yours again. All that you were, all that you had or ever would have became the equal property of your covenant partner.
During the covenant ceremony in Abraham's day, the partners exchanged coats, each one giving their authority to the other. They exchanged weapons as a way of saying, "Your enemies are now my enemies. I'll fight your fights as if they were my own." They walked through the blood of slain animals, pronouncing their loyalty to one another, even to the death.
When God made covenant with him, Abraham knew there was no longer any room for doubt. God had proven how intensely He desired to be God to him. He'd given him every thing He had and bound Himself to Abraham in a relationship that could not be dissolved. Abraham comprehended the gravity of a covenant agreement. It convinced him once and for all that God's promises could be trusted. It became an anchor to his soul.
Do you want to be a faith giant like Father Abraham? Then dig into the covenant you have with God. Study it in the Word. Let the Holy Spirit show you what really happened when Jesus became the sacrifice that ratified your covenant with God. Let Him show you what it meant when He gave you His Name (John 16:23), His authority (Matt. 28:18-20), His armor and weapons (Eph. 6:10-17).
Once you realize what Jesus actually meant when He said, "This is the New Covenant established in My blood," your life will never be the same again. Scripture Study: Hebrews 10:1-23 (go to www.crosswalk.com to read this scripture, it's really great in the message version)

That's it, there is so much I could add about what I got from that but I only want to say one thing. So many made a new coventant with God at spring retreat and there are going to be (and probably already have been) so many opportunities that satan will put in your way to test that and see if the committment you made was strong, remember these words when those times come and remember who you made that agreement with, THE GOD OF THE UNIVERSE, ALL POWERFUL, ALL MIGHTY, INCREDIBLE GOD!! WHO LOVES YOU WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE, COVENANT OR NOT!!!
Okay, I'm done - Except for this one last thing(I feel like Chelsea W) - Please REMEMBER to turn in your World Mpact forms, I know I talked to a lot of you on Wednesday, Don't forget, we need them as soon as possible. Love you all - Mindi | | |
| World Mpact Applications due this week!!!Just wanted to remind all Mpacters out there, if you are planning on being a part of World Mpact this summer, your applications are due THIS WEDNESDAY, March 29th!! It's really important they are turned in because we need to lock in plane tickets. If you need an application, stop by the youth office and get one from Pastor Joseph.
Let me also say that if you are thinking about it but haven't decided yet, talk to a friend that has participated before. I guarantee you that they'll tell you how incredible and life changing it is. Please pray about it and listen to what God is telling you. Being a part of World Mpact is not the easy road, but it is totally rewarding and worth all that you put into it.
You all are incredible and I love you!! See ya Wednesday night!!

| Well today I risked my life for MATH!! What is my life coming to???? After all the snow, sleet and ice last night I had to get up at 6:30 this morning (yes I said 6:30 AM on a Saturday morning!!) and brave the terrible roads for the Union/Jenks Math Conference. Anyone that has ridden with me knows that I'm a slow driver anyway, so just imagine me, not fully awake, driving 10mph in my poor car all the way to the UMAC. Not fun, and totally not worth it, I spent the morning making origami butterflies and roosters. If anyone wants a lesson I'm now an expert.

Billy - age 4 --------------------------------- "Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5

Chrissy - age 6 --------------------------------- "Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri - age 4 --------------------------------- "Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." Danny - age 7 --------------------------------- "Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss" Emily - age 8 --------------------------------- "Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." Bobby - age 7 --------------------------------- "If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate," Nikka - age 6 --------------------------------- "Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday." "When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." Karen - age 7 --------------------------------- "Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross" Mark - age 6 --------------------------------- "You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget." Jessica - age 8 --------------------------------- And the final one --Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry" --------------------------------- When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need. Amen.
