Passed my mock exams for the ITEC massage yesterday. Which I really didn't expect to. Got 65% on that paper and 70% and 90% on the other 2. weight off my mind!

And the ski company are fine with me practising while I am at 2300m in France!

Have had 3 big and good w/es in a row, but have to knuckle down to work now!

RIP Elliot Smith

I dunno why I feel so sad. I don't usually care when famous people die. you know, objectively it's sad when anyone dies. but you shrug and get on with life. Princess Di left me befuddled. Didn't get the whole national obsession thing at all.
But this has left me feeling very sad.
Poor guy.

i have a job in the French alps.

Yeah.

I can't tell you how much I love skiing and the mountains. I think it's in my blood or something. But as i go up the lift in the morning its as though my brain clicks over into this contented calm - it's almost a trance. And I just spend my time looking and wondering at the beauty of it - and skiing itself is so much about ease - just leeeeeeeeaaaaan and you carve.

Ahhh. And i hadn't realised how tense I have been for the past couple of months. it will be good to get away - since I told everyone i was going the universal reaction has been jealousy and "my god you need it!"

I'll be in a chalet looking after 12 people alone! which will be some kind of challenge, but i will have a floating member of staff to help a couple of days a week. The chalet complex has a spa, a gym and a sauna, so perhaps I'll even be able to fit some massage in.

still no money, but a truly lovely weekend. Went out on friday with £8 -
that's enough for 2 pints of beer and my bus fare home! Watched England-Turkey
in the pub, then we stayed there til closing, and left. It looked as though
the night was going to fizzle then and there. And we couldn't get in to
the club we wanted. but a couple of hours later we were all hugging, and
telling people each other "I love you" and other assorted sillyness - like
snchronised roly-polys on the dance-floor. Then when we left at 4 we all
headed back and had more fun at a nearby house. I got dragooned into massages,
needless to say, but that was cool. I spoke at length to a couple of friends
who I haven't for a while and was feeling distanced from, and that was good
too. Stayed there and had roasted pheasant that Tim had actually shot the
previous weekend! He is a farming boy. Lovely stew, and exactly what we
wanted. Plus we got a girl out who is a long standing friend who hasn't
been into clubbing and all that goes along with it until now. So the others
really didn't know her as well, and it was great to have her along... And
i got home with money to spare. today I had an interview with a ski company
today, and overslept, so spent much of the morning in an swearing hurry!
But they offered me a job on the spot, I just don't think its the job I
want, so I'll hold out for one I want more. Catch yer later. Tom
