i know that there are a lot of pictures... but it was hard only choosing this many. these are my favorite peoples/kiddos in taiwan. for whatever reason they were on my mind alot today. i miss them lots. i miss wrestling with the boys. dancing with the girls. making strange faces with grandma. taking pictures with grandma. talking with agin. bursting jack and apong's bubbles of "BIG TOUGH GUY"ness. (basically that just means giving them hugs. they are two of the littlest guys at the school and always trying to prove they are as tough as the big boys) long drives and chats with jen. playing games and being crazy with ell. laughing with/at peter. seeing my "boyfriend." getting hugs from and chit chatting with my baby, awan. teasing vicky. hearing "NICKY!!!! NICKY!!!! NICKY!!!!" all day long.

it's been home 23 days. nat's wedding is over. life is slowing down.
and it's hitting...
i'm not going back to the place and people that i love and hold dear to my heart.
most of them i may never see again. this morning the sermon was about worrying. it's such an easy thing to do. but the fact is that it's sin. God tells us not to worry about ANYTHING. and yet i worry about so many things that aren't for me to worry about.
these people will always and forever hold a very special place in my heart! my wrestling buddies. tank, who gets so easily frustrated. who will be there for him? will there be anyone who will allow him to get his frustrations out in a healthy way? who will be there to hug my boys and love them? my sweet little girls. who will be there to dance with them, make strange faces, hug, and love them? what will their lives be like? how many hardships will they go through? will anyone show them the love of Christ? will they accept or reject Him? and so many other questions run through my head.
but the fact is that God loves those kids more than I ever could. He can take SO much better care of them than i can. i don't need to worry about them.
just pray. pray for them each and everyday.

the first wedding of the sisters... *wink*

My gorgeous sis is married! Twas a blast helping her get ready for the wedding. As I've missed out on everything else, the two weeks before the wedding I thoroughly enjoyed helping prepare for it. Then the big day came. Along with it came the craziness! I arrived at the church around 9, to get my hair done, do my nails, and be ready for pictures. (I might add that I only got 4 nails done! I was wearing gloves most the time, so it didn't really matter) The day came and went without any real hitches. (Well, there was one, but it all worked out. )

here is the gorgeous bride with her groom.

nati and daniel were so funny during the ceremony.

Well, that's it for now. I think I'm officially recovered on sleep from the wedding! Nat, I'm so happy for you! As I was so far away for y'alls courtship and engagment I wasn't so sure how excited I was for you. (after all he was STEALING MY sister!!!! ) But after coming home and seeing how much he loves you and respects you, I started to get very excited for ya! Daniel, remember the sisters can beat you up. jk! You got yourself a very amazing and awesome girl! I'm really happy for you both! I've seen and known you both before anything between you ever happened and I've seen how God has taken you through many different things and grown you in Him. Not just grown you close to Him, but I've also seen how He's grown you to each other in Him. May God bless you both richly as you start your lives together!

goodbyes...

So, the saying goodbye has started. The first day was Sunday saying goodbye to Ginger, Sarah, and Lauren. (they came to visit over the weekend for my birthday ) Three amazingly, awesome friends who have been my sanity this year!!!  lol I'm going to miss them SO much!

Today was even harder. Those three live in America and there is the possibility of seeing them again. Today I went to my aboriginal school. I have come to deeply love the people in FaXiang! Instead of having normal English class today, we made/ate several different kinds of their traditional food. First we made their traditional pork and fish. Then it was lunch time and shortly afterwards came my first goodbye, Akin had to go to Puli. I have had so much fun with her this year! It was so hard not to cry when she came up to me and gave me a huge hug! (Akin isn't really a touchy person, she doesn't give hugs a lot) After lunch we had a BBQ, aboriginal style. It was a blast and VERY delicious!!! The rest of the day was spent eating, incredibly YUMMY food!!! Then it came time to leave. Tank, one of my 5th graders, also my buddy, gave me a huge hug and then wouldn't look at me or talk to me after that. He didn't want to cry like all the other girls were. The other boys were making fun of the girls and myself who were crying, to keep themselves from crying. My precious Awan clung to me till she had to leave. Nina(Grandma) and Jena gave me a million hugs. The rest of the kiddos practically knocked me over all trying to get their hug in; while telling me how much they loved me and didn't want me to leave. Vicky hardly left my side the whole day. Apong randomly throughout the day gave me hugs, but ran and hid when it was time to say goodbye. Saying goodbye to Jen, my "sister" and trying not to cry too much was hard.

These people have become my life and now I have to leave and find something new, something unknown. I don't want to think about the fact that I will no longer get to go and visit my "family", no more wrestling with my kids, no more hugs from Awan, no more hearing the words "我愛你!" from my sweet kids, no more hearing Tayan, no more laughing at Tamu's jokes, no more long talks with Jen or Akin. All the reasons I look forward to Monday will no longer be exist. I hate saying goodbye. Knowing there is a large possibility that I will never see these kids again makes it even harder.

I LOVE those girls!!! Every weird face I made they imitated. We had so much fun in class. It was test day and some of them finished a little bit early so we had fun with my camera! Oh, wait! Those are all the girls in the class and Jack wasn't there. hmmm... anyway... A real post is coming soon. Hopefully.

Life is crazy busy! I have less than two weeks before I head home. And the few days I have left are packed with fun stuff and packing. As much as I'm sad about leaving, I'm really looking forward to getting home and just relaxing!

My meimei, Awan! (little sister) These pictures were taken two weeks ago. I gave her a kiss on the forehead and she says to me (in chinese of course) "DON'T KISS ME!!!!" I asked her why. She responds with "Because..... Because..... Because.................... Because............" So I asked her again and she says (with her oh so cute giggle) "Because I don't love you!" *giggle* *giggle* *giggle* I pretended to cry and asked her "WHY??????????" She then does the whole "Because........ Because........... Because..........." thing again. Finally she comes up with an answer. "Because on your nose right here it's red (I was a little bit sun burnt) and it looks like a monkeys behind!" *giggle* *giggle* *giggle* I really didn't have a come back for her. LOL So, I just told her that she was a strange child! I then told her ok you don't love me, but I love you so I'm gonna give you a kiss!
Her family are aboriginals, so of course she has an aboriginal name. Her name is the same as the word in their language for monkey. She has learned the word "monkey" in English. And she thinks that her older sister, herself, and I have the same name. Vicky(older sister), Monkey, and Nikky. It's the whole "key" sound. When she discovered this she was SO excited! She wants to be like Vicky and I. She told her mom when she gets older she is going to "get curly hair like Nikky's." She's SO PRECIOUS!!!! And INCREDIBLY ADORABLE!!!! I'm going to miss her like CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
