I'm just hanging out enjoying the summer! Tonight John and I are going out on a date. A much needed time out because this week was a tad hectic. ;)

Wednesday, May 30, 2007

Thank you for praying for us...Johnny is much better now. Turned out I didn't have to take him in to see the doctor. He woke up Friday morning perky, not coughing as much nor wheezing and lethargic like the day before. :)

Thursday, May 24, 2007

My life has been busy.... Joey is doing much better since last Thursday's scare. I know now that it's common for kids his age to have Febrile seizures every now and again due to a fast rise in a fever, but I still can't get that image of him out of my mind, or dialing 911 for that matter. My other two are battling through this same "bug." Ali is just getting over it and Johnny, who is asthmatic, may have to see the doctor tomorrow if the breathing treatments he has been receiving isn't enough. Please keep us in your prayers. :)

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

It's been a while since the last post. I know, I'm lazy. My husband does a better job at keeping up than me. :) Anyway, if ya'll haven't read my husband's last post he got into the Police Academy. Yay! He started last Tuesday and has been enjoying it since. I'm really excited for him and hey, John a cop sounds pretty hot. Okay, I know I'm going to hear something about that last comment but hey, he's my husband and I can say that!

The kiddos are all well. Alexis turned 1 on November 30th and for the most part walking. We had a couple of weeks with her crying from bedtime till morning teething. Turned out to be molars. I thought I was going to pull my hair out because nothing was working until this last Friday when she finally slept through the night!! The first in a long time and has been ever since. I know she's not done yet but at least there's a break. :)

Johnny turned 5 last January and is growing up FAST. He's always asking me what we're doing tomorrow and likes to play "Army Men" for Nintendo 64 with his daddy. Joey, who turned 2 last September, hasn't expressed his artistic abilities lately. Instead, he's focused more on the DVD player and how many DVD's we can put in and out while mommy is on the phone talking to daddy. He also likes to wake up his sleeping sister during naptime by climbing into her crib and jumping insanely.

I love my kids and wouldn't trade this crazy time for anything. Even if I think or say I can't do this anymore, deep down I still do. Being a mom is a wonderful gift. I hope the Lord blesses us with more. :)

Friday, November 10, 2006

My little Ali turns 1 on November 30th. I can't believe how time flies. I remember my pregnancy with her like it was yesterday. Right around this time last year I was complaining about how I hated the way my maternity jeans felt, how lactose intolerant I was and praying that she would stay in until the due date. I have a history of early births and really wanted this one to stay in as long as possible. She came about 9 days earlier than the due date but that was okay. She was the first "longest" pregnany I had and also my first homebirth. It was beautiful....

Monday, September 25, 2006

Today I went out with the kids and a few of our friends and their kids to the zoo. Mondays at the zoo are free admission for anyone living in the county so it was a perfect opportunity. The weather was just perfect and the animals were up and active too. The big thing the kids all (literally) wanted to see and wouldn't let up about were the hippos. I don't know why they wanted to see the hippos so badly, maybe because they are so big and different, or how they can hold their breath underwater for a crazy amount of time. Who knows. All I know is that they had a good time and are going to sleep well tonight. Mom included. :)

Sunday, September 17, 2006

Just to let you know, I FINALLY got most of the laundry done (with John's help) and he also got the spider for me. Yay! But I'm still having a bad hair day. Actually, it's been a bad hair week. I think it's time for a change. Hmm...Okay, I'm extremely tired. Going to bed now. :)

Friday, September 15, 2006

It's cold and rainy here. The sun hasn't shown in quite a few days. My laundry is piled sky high beckoning me to wash and fold it. There's also a HUGE wood spider hanging out on one of our walls in the basement. I can't get myself to smash it before it makes a home in one of our laundry baskets or surprises us on the main floor. I can handle small critters but this I don't have the guts to do! Too much mess! EW! So anyways, I'm having a hard time feeling motivated to do anything but bum around, complain about what should get done while eating a box of ritz crackers, and reading everybodys posts. I'm also having a bad hairday...Depressing, I know.

Monday, September 11, 2006

Hi. I'm gonna try this whole entry again since it didn't go through last time. Things here at the Medlong household have been busy. John is still working his crazy shifts but we're managing alright. Last week we celebrated Joey's birthday with an official cake (that I made) and ice cream. Last year, for his 1st birthday, we didn't do anything because I was pregnant, sick and on bedrest. We were also living with my parents, too, and due to circumstances with that, it was difficult. Overall, this birthday, I wanted to do something special for him. I didn't want a big party, I just wanted John, Johnny, Alexis, myself and of course the birthday boy. It was really sweet to see him so excited about his cake, with the two candles lit on it, and the song we sang for him. I know it made him happy, being the middle child he can get left out sometimes, but this made his day. I saw it written all over his little face.:) Later, Joey opened the gift we bought for him which was a new and improved magnadoodle! He needed a new one since the other one he had (which was originally Johnny's) was about done. That was an interesting ordeal. For most of the night, Johnny and Joey were scrapping over the darn thing and as soon as one would put it down, it would immediately get snatched up by the other. It's still the hot thing here but I'm glad we got our moneys worth! Anyways, Alexis will be 10 months in the next few weeks and she has been doing things that I thought were not to be done until later. I find her walking along furniture and crawling with her butt up in the air a tad bit amusing.:) Johnny and Joey have been showing a lot more interest in her, too, and have been incorporating her in their play. They tumble, chase and tickle eachother which in return blesses me to see them interact without my constant role for entertainment. I like having babies.:) Johnny, our 4 year old, is learning how to write his name. Actually, he can do it although the letter "N" is written backwards. That's okay. He'll get it later. I've been working with him on some things and plan to homeschool him in the upcoming future. It's neat to watch him grow and brings about a sadness in me knowing that he's not a baby anymore drinking bottles, that I would pump for him night and day, or wiping his bottom after a poopy. Man, does time fly. Children are a gift and a blessing from the Lord!

Monday, August 07, 2006

I thought I would let you all know that I FINALLY got the marker and pen off the computer monitor a few days ago. I used just a tad bit of clorox cleanser and a washcloth and woop-de-doo! Alright, I know this is a tad boring for you out there but it's exciting to me!
