It's raining... It's pouring...

WTF???  Again???

I'm all for no droughts and such, but seriously, rain, can you go away for more than a day?

The Return of the Daddy

Wow.  It's been a while.  Lotta news I missed out there in xanga world.  Congrats to all whose lives have changed in the past two months.

I could post about unimportant things I usually complain about here but I'm busy.  So that's pretty much it.

Until next year or whenever...

Some teacher ranting about his political beliefs in his classroom got suspended because one of his students taped it and complained about him, and now he's about to file a lawsuit to start teaching again.  And students are protesting his suspension by walking out of class, citing freedom of speech.

Freedom of speech my arse.  I remember when I was a student too, and if someone told me to protest about the cafeteria serving burritos using mozarella instead of cheddar by walking out of class with a bunch of other kids, I would have walked out of class, too.

That said, I understand why the teacher was suspended.  Freedom of speech has nothing to do with it.  If some teacher spent all his days ranting to my daughter's class why he believes there is no God and provides some facts to back his theory, and he never provided the other view, I'd be mad as hell and want him suspended too.  Say whatever you want, but wait til your outside of the classroom where majority of kids believe whatever you say is something to be learned.
