Actually, I'm talking about the internet and our most commonly used sites/applications. Let's think back 7+ years when I was in junior high. It was around the time I started using the internet and the same might go for most of you. What was hot back then? AsianAvenue? Apartment 107? Napster? Chatrooms?!

Ok now think back 2 - 3 years...facebook? myspace? xanga?

And now...facebook? myspace?

Well, what sparked this blog was how complicated everything got. AIM is full of all these weird features now that just take up more computer memory. Facebook is full of shit and Myspace isn't any better. I still enjoy facebook but only for the features that it had when I started using it like tagging pictures. Now there's all this crap on there that tend to waste all of my friends' time. I keep getting these random ass quizzes on disney movies not to mention the super wall and the other bullshit invitations I get. Myspace and facebook are pretty damn similar now. It sucks that facebook isn't college exclusive anymore either. Them facebook developers got greedy with the money. Even xanga is all tricked out!

Just something I thought about. As life gets more complicated, so does the internet. There's all these extras that waste even more time.

I'm not taking your quiz dammit.

all nighters

slowly but surely, all nighters are returning. somehow i was able to correct my sleeping habits when school started but now im getting back into my bad cycle: stay up all night, be tired throughout the day, take a long ass mid-day nap, and repeat. the worse part is, it makes me miss my 8am classes!

the only reason im up now is cuz i loaded up on caffeine. i stayed at grainger for almost 8 hours straight. i got there at 7pm and left at about 3am. i'll probably have to do that a few more times until im all caught up in school work. once that happens though, i'll probably fall behind again in no time.

i haven't had the urge to blog anymore but since im up for no reason and im tired of facebook and the psa forums, this is something new.

within the past week, i realized something new about myself. i can speak out and express my opinions quite freely but i find it difficult to express my feelings and emotions. im pretty sure it was the other way around before. i usually vented within my blogs and/or away messages. i definitely don't do that anymore. so where does it all go? pretty much nowhere or in other words, i bottle it up. but don't worry, i'm not angry or anything.

well i guess i'll try to sleep again. until next time xanga. next time probably won't be for another 6 months or so.

Monday, September 10, 2007

I haven't blogged since april?! There's so much shit to worry about. I'd rather not list them all because anyone reading this should know what I'm talking about. Seriously though, this semester was absolutely insane. There was so much on my mind (and there still is) that I feel like I'm a different person. I have a different perspective on a lot of things. Actually, now that I think about it a little more, I think I'm just annoyed about a lot of things.

On another note, I don't think I'm living the correct life. I know I have so much more potential that I'm not allowing to grow. There's something inside of my waiting to break out.

Wow. I soooo need to vent to the right people right now.

Goal: set my life straight this summer.
Tuesday, March 06, 2007

This weekend was a trip.
Thursday, February 22, 2007

Thanks to my Ading Jemma's recent Xanga entry, I've become inspired to write one myself. She hit a topic that I've definitely thought about in the past. It's called friendship...particularly college friendship.

So I've been here at the U of I for a little over a year and a half now. I've made a good amount of new friends whom I've already grown to love. What gets to me though is how close we actually are. I feel like I really don't know much about a lot of them. I'm talking about the few who I consider close....you know, the ones around best friend status. These are people that I want to consider life long friends but stick me in a room with one of them, finding a topic of conversation wouldn't be easy. Knowing that I don't know much about them should make it easy though right? I don't feel that way though because I feel like there's some barrier that still hasn't been broken. It's almost like I need icebreakers just to get something going. Another thing is...school friends are only friends at school. It's rare that any of us hang out when we're back at home. The only way it's been done is when there's a planned occasion. Although last winter break I tried calling a few spontaneous hang outs that were barely effective.

I guess I can make it a goal this Lent and beyond to really get to know my friends here at school. It's still a surprise to some people that I have 2 older siblings. That says a lot already about how much we know about each other. It sucks because everyone is so busy here at school that there's never time to just sit down and talk ("DT Sessions")...something I love doing. I want to learn about everyone's past, present, and future. I'll gladly tell mine.
Tuesday, February 06, 2007

I'd like to send a shoutout to my newest xanga subscribers. Haha. I've gotten like 5 more in the past month compared to like 1 in the past year.

Quick plug:

PSA 22nd Annual Fashion Show: Couture
Saturday February 10th, 2007
Foellinger Auditorium, UIUC
3:00pm - 5:30pm
$6 in advance, $8 at the door
http://psauiuc.org/fs

I also thought about doing a picture blog or something but that will take long too. I'm pretty sure I'll find the time to do something though within these last 2 weeks of break. Anyways, until that happens here's a lightning fast flashback of 2006.

New Years @ Justine's house
PSA Fashion Show: Pasiklaban
UIUC Battle of the Bamboo Champs!
My first UIUC Unofficial St. Patrick's Day
MAFA @ Marquette
Euro (Toxic) Thursdays
Chi Kollaboration
PSA Formal: A Night with the Stars
The Beach Party
Leo Club's 12th Fashion Show
Purdue Grand Prix Weekend
69 Barcrawl
1312 Case Races
PSA Fil-Amthropy
Hype!
Erika's Cotillion
Jaimee's Cotillion
The Nacho Libre Afterset
Taste of Chicago
Monster House in Black and White
Sin Senal at The Dells
Skokie Mondays @ PVL and Village Creamery
Sophomore Year
An overwhelming amount of early PSA events: socials, picnic, cultural self, cornfusion...
My 20th Birthday
Semi-Formal
FACT
Alumni Weekend
Ricebowl
Oh-Nine's Thanksgiving Feast
Mega Jam
Camille's Cotillion
More PSA Events: White Elephant, Fashion Show Practices, Ice Skating, 2010 Sleepover, Senior Dinner, Open Mic
Living at 32 the entire week of finals
The birth of my niece
Christmas
Nintendo Wii
My transformation into an owl
and finally, NYE 2006

Another memorable and eventful year. My friends just left after another night of Wii so I have the chance to go to sleep now. The thing is...I don't want to yet. Why? I don't know.

Let's see. Last time I blogged was Christmas Eve. I actually got 3 comments and 6 props for that one! Woot. I'm trying my best to live up to that blog and so far I'm not doing too bad. Anyway, Christmas was pretty much the same as every other year. I went to a family party in Glendale Heights on Eve, I went to my sister's for lunch on Day, and then my aunt's in Chicago for dinner on Day. The differences this year were opening presents at 10pm on Eve rather than midnight or close to it, celebrating with my one and only niece, and playing PS3 and taking a few drinks (not in front of my mom of course). Oh, and the party on Eve had wayyyy more food than previous years. I don't know why it happened but it was amazing. My aunt added a taco bar this year in addition to other great desserts. Damn, I'm making myself hungry. So other than those differences, the gifts and the boredon were quite similar. I got a few bucks and some bomb ass clothes though. I kinda felt old getting money but then again I don't work and I have no other income other than allowance so it was all good. So yeah, that was my Christmas.

I don't really have much to say about the rest of the week. I'm pretty sure I stayed home tuesday, wednesday, and last night. I've been out of the house to eat and go to cotillion practice. That's about all. I'm gonna go crazy here. My weekend is looking good though. My high school basketball team is ranked 19th in the state. They're whoopin ass right now. They're in the same tournament as Michael Jordan's sons and are expected to play them in the finals. I'm going tonight to watch them. It won't be the finals yet but I just want to see both teams play. It'll be even crazier if MJ is there. WOW. Saturday is one of my friend's birthday parties and Sunday is NYE! This is the first year I'm getting wasted so I'm really lookin forward to that. I've only had a few drinks in the past and they haven't done much for me.

I guess that's all for today.
