Conversations

It feels like forever since I have last written here.  Half a year ago, I was in the middle of my last finals/paper, preparing for graduation.  Now, nearly 4+ months at work.  Amazing how much time passes once you step outside the world of education.  So what has brought me back into this space?  A comment from a friend:

"Today I reconnected with a man who [...] make me feel utterly stupid because he was brilliant.  Not just smart or witty - but brilliant.  And he didn't make me feel stupid in the way some guys do - through patronizing or being condescending."

The comment is not just truthful, but that is exactly what I have been seeking.  To have those type of conversations is priceless.

Today I reconnected with a few old friends too.  Although the time spent seemed brief, checking the minutes after the conversation determines how much I haven't really sat down to talk with them.  It amazes me to think that each day that passes by and not see those friends (whether at school or work) could mean so much.  Miss you all.

Graduation

Graduation is almost here.  I still can't quite grasp it yet that my 17+ years of education may be coming to its end.  Tomorrow will be the first of my walks, the Business School Ceremony.  If I have not invited you yet, I apologize for the delay because I was doubtful of walking myself.  Now that I have decided, I would like to extend my celebration  to you!  Please join me at Edmundson Pavilion at 3pm.  No tickets is required and the parking is free.  However, please do not bring any balloons!

Whether it be good byes or hellos, I wish everyone the best with your future endeavors.

Happiness

A question popped in my head today, what makes you happy?  So, I decided to make a list:

The little things: watching ants crawl, the rain trickle, the airplane view of lights glowing, my favorite/old music playing, the tick of a clock

The simple gestures: the catch of a stranger smiling, thank you notes, a surprise call, handmade gift from the heart, a thought that you cared, a message, a text, an email, a hug, a hand wave, a wink, a compliment

The lavish food: food crafted from scratch, baking, cleaning, eating, drinking

The adventurous: surrounded by water, hiking, badminton, squash, walking, traveling to a new place, running, hiding, moving to the grooves...
