    its been awhile...

its been awhile since i have posted to the xanga. i have been reading and watching lots of things but i have also been falta the motivation to write about it which is kindof frustrating because i don't want to stop reflecting, if that makes any sense. so here's a feeble attempt to return to old habits that were lost in the busyness.

so that's pretty much what i want to say in this post. and that this book, "The Brothers K", incredible. i mean, at first you might think its a book about baseball but then you'll keep reading and realize you've never read anything like it before-- or at least i hadn't. beautiful, intense, heavy, hilarious, complicated, inspiring... the adjectives could go on and on. quotes and reflection to come. until then... read it.

Fidelity by Regina Spektor (i think i struck gold)

    i never loved nobody fully
always one foot on the ground
and by protecting my heart truly
i got lost in the sound i hear in my mind
all of these voices i hear in my mind
all of these words i hear in my mind
all of this music i hear in my mind

and it breaks my heart, and it breaks my heart

    and it breaks my heart

suppose i never ever met you
suppose we never fell in love
suppose i never ever let you kiss me so sweet and so soft
suppose i never ever saw you
suppose i we never ever called
suppose i kept on singing love sings
just to break my own fall

    just to break my fall

    Grey's Anatomy - Season 1

    The thing is...

The thing about Grey's Anatomy is that at first I thought, "its just a time passer", but then I realized that I am a visual- story- character type learner and processor and sometimes it just helps to cry it out over a TV show because then, when its time to wake up and face the day, it doesn't seem so impossible.

Sure, I don't always agree with the values, but I always agree with being real, with wrestling through it, and trying to give relationships-- of all kinds-- some sort of a place in your life.

But, hey, it is just a TV show after all...
