ok so its been some time since i updated.  well classes are starting to get really challenging.  thats my fault from switching from sociology to a math major.  i ran in my last 5k as well.  i hadnt trained in a long time, and just went out for a few recreational runs, so i wasnt expecting to do anything special.  my goal was to just break 21.  to my surprise i pred and ran a 19:30 (translates to about a 18:40 at pierce).  but i was beat by my multi variable calculus teacher from last year.  but that still did not prevent me from winning my age group.  i even got  a medal.  the course was nice with rolling hills around the arberetum.  after that a few weeks later i went to a holloween party, at lynseys and lynsey, tuan, robert, david, jeff, benny, cherrill, jessica, gee and tina surprised jason and i for our birthday.  it was lots of fun...and the gift was "clever"  wink wink.  hahahaa inside joke.  i ended the week with a computer crashing having to replace the labtop because the part that broke cost 600 and the labtop is only 700.  now this labtop is having problems grrrrrr.  had all my midterms, did very well in Vector Analysis,  well see about Abstract Math (the test was today and i dont know how i did, i know i made a few stupid mistakes).  that class is so hard.  ok well later folks....i have to finish my diet project for nutrition 10.

ok so today i visited cleveland.  i got to see all the little runners.  they seem to have a pretty good team this year, with oscar running, throw in top f/s finisher in city luis, and 4:49 miler gil, and 18:07 runner steven and you got a great team.  they just need to sure up that 5th spot.

the amazing thing was that i paced the 800 today.  you would not believe what i did.  remember i have not done any speed runs at all this year, no running shorter than a 2000m run (5 laps).  i ran a 2:20 on dirt in the peak of heat.  some 800 specialist also ran 2:20 and he might have beat me at the end.  then luis ran a 2:22 and oscar ran a 2:29 and then there was a ton of people in the 2:35-2:55 range.  there was a group of like 10 girls who ran in the 3:05-3:15 range. but sadly to say the girls dont have much of a shot since our league is super strong.

wow!  can bush make this country even more fucked up than it allready is?  many people in new orleans escaped to the super dome on foot, and bush said it wasnt safe enough to send troops.  obviously the real reason is that all our national gaurd are in Iraq where they have no business being.  i cant stand the commercials for the national gaurd where they make it sound like you can be an engineer or just on stand by when they know damn well that those people are being immediatly shipped over to iraq, right after they get a weeks worth of training.  and damn it whats with those "support our troops bumper stickers."  once again the media has created a fraise that has absolutly no meaning.  how is someone with that bumper sticker supporting them?  are they planning on sending their son or inlisting themselves.  i guess that would be support.  perhaps they mean they plan on buying the troops jockstraps that would also be support.  maybe getting them out of iraq all together would be support, since they would no longer be being killed.  perhaps making sure that there is not one homeless veteran, and giving all veterans lifetime health care would be support.  but the amazing thing to me is that is seems like that support the troops has come to mean support the war which has nothing to do with supporting the troops at all.  im really tired of these catch phraises that mean absolutely nothing, but are rather just gimicks.  i think support the troops might even surpass the imfamous "family values" which once again has no meaning, since everones idea of family values is different, and thus bush really is not saying anything about what he believes.

and to make things even worse bush now is looking to appoint roberts as the head of the supreme  court.  a politician who is actually quoted saying that renquist isnt conservative enough.  out of the 200+ nominees bush submitted.  the human rights orgainisation was very un picky and only voiced opposition to 13. and out of those 200 he chose one of those 13 worst canidates for the position.  this is scary because i saw some of the names they didnt oppose and to think roberts is worse than gonzales is really creepy.

ok this has been an interesting summer of running.  i improved in every 5k race i entered finishing at the spirit of LA 5k.  my times for the summer so far have been, 20:57, 20:28, 20:24, 19:57(electronic timing had me 1 sec faster than what i got on my watch), 19:49, 19:34.  the last 5k was interesting because it was the only one i did that was not on the track.  it was on olympic boulavard by la high.  it started and finished with 300 meters on the track.  i went out in 6:14.  i was a little nervous since the first mile is a little down hill, and i was winded and did not run much faster the first mile of the track 5k on wednesday wich was flat.  but then i hit the 2 mile in 12:40, which is a second mile of 6:26, slightly uphill.  then the last mile i went pretty fast, i passed at least 5 people and ran a 6:14.  i ran the last 200 pretty slow probably like 40, but the final sprint was on a turn.  i finished second in my age group and got a 25 dollar gift certificate to a running store in manhattan beach.  it was a lot of fun, and i am happy with my 5k season.
