Summer lovin, had me a blast...Hey my lovelies. I've been home a week, and this summer is already one of the less lazy I've had. Maybe it's a sign of growing up. Maybe it's a sign of.......uh....I've got stuff to do. I interviewed Tuesday for an internship. I am waiting to hear if he can get the money to pay me. I hate when things are about money. My favoritest Suzie is getting married next summer and is already in a tizzy THIS summer. Poor girl. Although she does not know this, I have embarked on a personal quest to find her a photographer that doesn't cost her two arms and two legs (a torso in a wedding dress is just not attractive). If all else fails, I have offered my mad skill with a Kodak Max, but that is only a last (very last, I mean bottom-of-the-barrel, nerdy-guy-picked-last-for-kickball last) resort. No need for tizzies with Melissa as maid of honor!!!! PS: Related to finding a photographer, I was looking on the site of one guy I found, browsing the samples of work. One picture was of an older couple and the woman looked like she was about to cry! It was pretty funny to me. In other news, Holli, Jason and the munchkins have settled into their own place just a few minutes down the road (yay!) and are doing fine. We get to see them a lot since they are so close. I have had the opportunity to watch Kendall a few times and she is a rascal, but she is 2 years old (3 in june), so that is not too surprising. She is also pretty hilarious. I am astounded every day how much she knows and how much she can learn. She can count, she knows all her letters and numbers like a pro and get this: the names of some states!! She has a puzzle of the 50 states and can do it in no time. Plus all her colors, animals, etc. that other AVERAGE kids know (haha). Landon is doing ok too. He is now almost 5 months. He is a cutie and just struggling to survive in the same house as Kendall. Crazy child. Gotta love her. Also, Sterling is coming (Lord willing) on Saturday to spend a few days with me. I haven't seen him since Easter but it seems like longer. If you've ever done long distance, you know what I'm talking about. One weekend is just not enough, but I am very grateful for the time. I also have plans for sewing some clothes and reading lots of books like I do every summer. I also have a goal to buy a digital camera this summer....being KGE's historian in the fall, that might help. Other goals include seeing the 3rd Pirates movie and possibly Evan Almighty, although I am not a fan of Steve whatever his name is. I don't even know what else is coming out. Maybe Spiderman. Although..I've been wondering about this for a while..why is he referred to as "spidey"???? Never understood that. Saying "Black spidey, I choose you" just sounds so....Power Rangers to me. Anyway, I digress. That's the lowdown on me. Hope your summer is filled with..you know...stuff...and whatnot. I know a lot of kids in my class (sounds like we are holding hands on the way to lunch) are getting internships/jobs this summer and have a lot on their plates....but if I offer once piece of advice now: do something for YOURSELF every day!! Something fun, something just for you, something YOU want. Even just for five minutes. We have our whole lives to work and to give our time to others and to not have time to take time for ourselves. As Christians, we are servants and we should strive to always put others first. But be careful not to drain yourself or you will be burned out and then where will you be? I know, right? Exactly. Remember Josh Kelley who did that song "Amazing"? I found his second CD "Almost Honest" at the Dollar Tree. C-R-A-Z-Y. Definately bought it for a buckaroo. A sweet start to a sweet summer. Oh, and I got all As for the first time since high school...I'm pretty proud, although, I can't give myself too much credit because it was a super easy semester. But I guess I could have gotten super lazy and not done well. That would have been easy. But my parents are proud and that's really what I'm going for. |
