okay dear Hanoverians (or, ehem, SARAH ) here i am, posting, from Rhode Island. This school year at Rhode Island College has already begun (day one was 8/30/04), and it looks as though it is going to be a busy but glorious year.  two days before the start of the academic year, i found myself waking up at two in the morning, to be at the airport by four am, on a 6:30 am flight and then voila! in Indianapolis attending Ms. (or should i say Mrs. ) Bethany (Nine) Lawson's wedding. Lovely, just lovely.  Congratulations! On top of that, i got to hang out with Sarah and Ashleigh the entire day! It was a lovely reunion. Yes, yes it was.  so this year is going to be full of studying, and perhaps even more importantly, practice, practice, practice. I have so much practicing to do, but i can already see it is all paying off. My new private teacher, Perry, is beyond amazing. He is, in fact, my god. lol. He's the most amazing cellist i've ever met, and I get to study with him for as long as I am enrolled at RIC (or have the hundreds of dollars it costs to study with him per month if you're not a RIC student). It's all so terribly exciting.  My conductor, Dr. Markward, is also absolutely amazing.  Interestingly enough, he actually toured at Hanover with his choral group about 25 years ago. He said it was the most beautiful college campus he'd ever visited. Yes, it is quite nice, i suppose :-p .  Ah yes, a part of me does miss life at Hanover, but all of me knows that i have found my niche in the music department of Rhode Island College. Honestly, it's just too amazing for words. Okay, i need to make dinner and then practice some more. Good luck in classes tomorrow, all!

well, since i haven't updated in an age, i guess i will....

in case any of you are interested, next year i will be attending Rhode Island College (RIC), double majoring in music performance and either Italian or English, and minoring in music education.  It's in Providence, so i'll be in the city, which will be fun. You can see the building that the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra (RIPO) performs in from campus, and my cello prof is the principle cellist in it!!! i'm really excited to study with him. he's AMAZING (he's the son of one of my previous cello teachers, so i've met him before).  Anyways, i'm really excited about going, although i will miss so many people next year *sniff*. i hope you know how much this year has meant to me.  It's been a rollercoaster for all of us, but even if i had the opportunity, i wouldn't change it.  It's been a really important year, it's helped me to grow in so many ways, and i guess it's just another step in life.  A part of my truly wants to stay here; i love it here academically, and even the campus has grown on me. and of course friends.  it's just the lack of a music dept. a REAL music dept. oh well, maybe someday Hanover will expand...who knows.

so how was everyone's spring break? mine was great! went home w/Sarah, Ashleigh, and Laura.  Laura and I got piercings in Broad Ripple (laura: ear, me: nose).  we ate tons of good food, watched lots of movies, talked lots and lots, and it was just a really great, relaxing break.  Thanks Girls :)

oh, and btw, Billy, the "piercer".......woah ::swoon:: that's all any of us can say.  should've had a camera :-p (lol Laura).

This spring term i'm taking Food, Body and Culture w/Chanasai.  it's REALLY interesting. a lot of work, but COMPLETELY worth it. i'm so glad i got in to it!!!!!

Ok, well off to finish hw. ciao tutti!

well, not really anything new to talk about. Well, except for the fact that that dipwad who murdered John Lennon is an EXTREMELY RUDE individual. Yes, yes he definitely is.  Oh, and Bethany finds Santa Clause erotic :p, as well as anything having to do w/whipped cream. hehe. Are YOU an erotic person? lol. I was extremely tired today. I had soo much homework to do last night, and there was so much that i wanted to do also. I DID go to the Turkish Ambassador, which I probably shouldn't have done, because it just ate up more homework time, but it was really good. I hung out w/Shelby and Nicole a little afterwards, talked w/some profs, forgot one of my books at CFA, missed an important phone call about my audition tapes, and had to watch a really strange music about crack and hippies...but it made a pretty true statement about the world. Sad, but true.  Well, I don't really know what else to tell you...oh yeah except that i have decided to minor in either a)English, b)Political Science, c) International Relations, or d)history. my mom wants me to minor in business. eh, no thanks :p. Well ok, off to the wonderful world of impossibly long history reading assignments i go. ta ta.

well peeps, what's new? nothing really here. except let me say that i am quite disappointed in the way some people acted (no one that hangs w/us) when a little diversity was finally brought to this homogenous campus. WAKE UP PEOPLE. there IS life outside of Hanover. i hope you will, and in the mean time, i also hope you're ashamed of yourselves. that's all i have to say.
