Last Saturday we had fun buying a crib for Michael.  He has been sleeping in a cute little port-a-crib, but now we want to get that ready for the next baby.  He's such a big boy that it is probably time to move him anyway!  We want to get him used to his new bed before baby Bethy comes, because we don't want him to have to go through too many changes all at once.  After Tom set up the big crib on Saturday, we squeezed it into our bedroom along with the porta-crib and our bed!  Things are getting rather squished in our one bedroom apartment!

Michael turned 10 months old today!  He seems less like a baby everyday!  I'm sure that he is going to look absolutely enormous next to the new baby!  It is so much fun to see his own little personality and preferences coming out.  He is an avid thumb-sucker, loves big stuffed toys, and is extremely attached to afghans!  He loves to stick his fingers through the holes of an afghan, and bury his face in it.    Last Sunday I was trying to get him to sit quietly in church, so I let him take his afghan in and hold it.  That worked to quiet him a lot better than the fun little toys I brought in for him to play with!

It amazes Tom and me how Michael just naturally likes boyish things even at such a young age.  His favorite toy is a little car carrier truck that comes with cars to put on it.  It was a gift from my Grandpa and Grandma Harrison for Christmas.  Grandma commented that she had picked it out because she knows how little boys like cars (I guess she has some experience!  ).

I've been having difficulty using self control in buying girlish outfits for baby Bethy!  A couple of weeks ago we went to "Children's Orchard" to look at the baby clothes that they sell.  A lot of the clothes are secondhand, but are in excellent shape--not like a lot of thrift stores I've been in.  After spending a long time eliminating some adorable clothes, I ended up with four sweet little dresses that were $4 or $5 each!  Two of them were brand new and still had the tags on them!  I tell you, it was hard to come away with only four!

It has been extremely hot here--the thermostat says that it is over 80 degrees in the house!  Today I felt tempted to turn on the air conditioning!  It feels so funny to be feeling this way in February!

I'm so excited that you are going to have a little girl! Little girl's dresses are sooooo cute! That is truly amazing that you only walked away with four! I remember when my sister was a baby........I had so much fun dressing her up and putting ribbons in her hair! I still do now and she is almost four!

We actually downsized after our daughter was born from a 3 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. We did that because the new neighborhood was so much nicer, and the rooms were more spacious, so it works out better.

My daughter turned 10 months old just 10 days ago! Looks like our little ones are close in age! It is true with Abby too that she seems to naturally love all of the little girl things - dolls and stuffed animals, etc.  I already bought her a little tea set made of fabric! It's an amazing blessing to watch them grow! When is your little princess due?

For great deals on clothes, have you tried eBay? I have found some cute things on there, some still with tags, for $5 maximum, including shipping!

Hope you stay cool! Are you down south? It is chilly here in the Northeast, with snow. My husband and I have family in California and Arizona, and they usually have nice weather. God bless.

I love reading about your little family. Little girls are such fun to dress up, and they have a tendency to go through a lot of clothes, which of course gives mommy an excuse to try out all those fun dresses.

And baby boys are such fun! Reading your blog brought back memories for me. Tom and Anne weren't as close in age as your two are, but I remember switching Tommy to a bed so the new baby could have his crib. He didn't stay in bed very well. For the first few nights, he slept on the floor and the dog slept on his bed. Hmm. Something wrong there.

I'm sorry if I misled you in any way, but we have an apartment, not a house. So sorry for the mix-up! That is so neat that you have done your wedding album! I just got introduced to scrapbooking, so I'm now beginning to do ours, and Abby's album too. I love it - it's so much fun!

Abby's teeth came in slowly at first, then quicker once she started to get them in. She usually gets one, than a couple of days later she will get another one. Then it is quiet for a couple of weeks until it starts all over again. She has been drooling since she was 3 months old though - seems like forever! :) How exciting for you to be nearing the end of your pregnancy, and to be able to meet your little girl soon!

That's nice that you have family so close. My family (my parents and 2 sisters: age 16 and 12) lives in Maine - a 2 day drive from us here in Pennsylvania. Some of Dan's family lives in Florida, but his mom lives two doors down from us, and his brother lives about two hours away. His other sister lives near Malibu, CA. (My husband is the youngest in his family.) My grandparents live in Nuevo, CA and my Great-grandmother and Uncle live in Riverside.

We would like to buy a home someday too, hopefully within the next several years if it is the Lord's will.

Dan and I were married on October 18, 2003 - only a little over 7 months before you and your husband got married! How funny! I enjoyed looking at your website photos. I posted some pictures of Abby if you would like to see them, and if you'd like I can post some of our wedding pictures too. I know I love looking at wedding pictures! It will be nice to get to know you as well! It is a blessing to find and have like-hearted friends!

Sorry for the long comment! Enjoy your day!
