  • 2008

    Happy 2008~  :)

    It's been a busy holiday season.  while Scott was snowboarding in Big Bear with his family, I spent it with mine in sunny San Diego for Christmas. 

    New Years was quite interesting.  We spent all day with Scott and his relatives and his relatives' relatives.  An interesting mix of people but made for an interesting game of mafia.  That game never gets old but does get frustrating with moderators that don't know what they are doing.  I won't elaborate but just understand how difficult it was with mentally challenged folks.

    After eating, eating and more eating, I didn't gain a pound but I've felt full almost every day for the last week and a half.  That's a great feat considering how much I ate.  Let's just hope it doesn't catch up with me.

    I only have 1 resolution for the new year.  Pass the dreaded CPA exam.

  • cockroaches, can't live with them~!

    some interesting facts we learned about cockroaches from the exterminator:

    - roaches eat CARDBOARD!  and anything lying around the kitchen - even coffee grinds that flies won't eat.

    - 3 roaches found at a restaurant and the food inspector will close the restaurant down.

    - roaches make 22 babies at a time

    - roaches mate within the family...  gross~

    anything else i should know about roaches?

    another up & coming girl group...  saw them live and let me tell ya, don't think they'll make it too far.  but the one in the middle is so cute.  she reminds me of a porcelain doll.   quick note...  these girls are NOT that much taller than me.  they are all wearing 4 inch heels.

  • celebrity schmelebrity...

    what a sad sad day today was...  i met my favorite korean singer from the late 90s.  she so happens to be best friends with scott's cousin.  we did dinner tonight and it didn't live up to my expectations.  to tell you the truth, i'm not sure what i was expecting but it was odd.  scott calls me around 6 ish asking if i'd like to have dinner with these girls.  i was thrilled.  we end up going to souplantation of all places.  once we step out of the car, she takes her hair out of her pony tail and puts on glasses (with NO lenses).  what a disguise.  we exchanged a few words at dinner since her english was limited and then we watched her make a fool of herself - twice.  we went to the grocery store to pick up some items and she climbs into the toy car that is attached to a grocery shopping cart for a photo opp.  very odd behavior.  after a few several pics, she attempts to get out of the toy car.  that was a 10-minute ordeal including more pics.  once we get back home, she takes out a pair of her rollerskates that she conveniently had in her friend's trunk and has her makeup artist pull her around the parking lot again with her friend taking lots more pictures.  man those schmelebrities...  they are something.  so they secretly do LOVE being in pictures.  the most ironic thing was when i saw her looking through celeb magazines at the grocery store.  was she wanting to see herself?  or was she just trying to compete w/ the american celebs?

    for the record, i no longer care to interact with any more celebs.  if i do see them, i'll happily stay a good distance away. 

    so we'll be heading out to vegas tomorrow to attend this korean concert, which is known as the Big 4.  i think my firm is making an appearance (just kidding... you gotta love that accounting humor). wish me luck.  i'll have to be surrounded by k celebs and the in-laws who are infatuated with them.

  • at my old age~!

    so on tuesday night, cheryl challenges me to a race across the street.  well you know me and challenges.  i can never refuse.  but i seriously should have declined this one.  after the short race, my knees were killing me.  it may have been an old football injury or old age but whatever it was, i've learned my lesson.  never again will i jump at a challenge at my old age (well without putting some serious thought into it). 

    last night i took some calcium and glucosamine pills and it did wonders.  ahhhh~!  i feel like a new person today.  :)
