  • a few interesting events. . .

There's never a dull moment in the house of a toddler being potty trained. From puddles of urine on the floor to changing outfits a couple times a day. . .

here's snapshot of Nathaniel sitting on the potty playing with an old ice cream bucket. He sat there for a while just yelling into it so he could hear his echo.

Last Friday evening our family went up to Presque Isle for a picnic supper and a little relaxation. It was so miserably hot at home that we thought getting out and dipping our feet in the cool water would be great. Here are some snapshots:

  •  It's been so long. . .do I remember how to do this? Instead of "catching everyone up" on our lives, I will just post some more pics with some random comments.

A recently HUGE highlight for our family was seeing my brother, Wayne, again. This is a pic of Grandma and Nathaniel getting some walking in at the rest stop before having to get back in the van and continue traveling.

    @the rest stop

Yeah, this is what WE do best! It wasn't long after we saw each other again that we were back to our old, normally weird selves!

  • Time to update . . .again?!

Life in our home is like a circus. Sometimes it sounds as though there are a herd of elephants living here. (Esp. every evening when Nathaniel and his Daddy have their wrestling, running and guy time together!) If Nathaniel is in one of his strong-willed moods you better believe it's like living amongst lions and tigers. There are times when it's a sheer act of faith, like walking a tightrope, to believe that I'm going to get anything done besides taking care of my children. All I know is: this is my season. My time of motherhood. Oh, that I will have the strength to endure! I'm doing OK today - thanks to my 4th cup of java!

Here's a bit of an update on our lives:

Nathaniel recently took a very bad fall. He fell face first onto the rim of a metal bucket. His left cheek underneath his eye took the blow. I was so thankful that it didn't hit his eye or even do any damage to the eye area. He walked around with 2 black eyes for a couple days though. The poor kid.

    bruising from the bad fall

Elaina's growing up. She is now 3 months old and has to see what's going on. Here she is just chillin on the couch.

    relaxing

This is how we see her: hands in mouth! She's cutting teeth, yes at 3 months, and has made drooling a real art!

    teething

Here she is on the kitchen counter after her bath!

Valentine's Day! Awe! Nathaniel opening his card from Mommy & Daddy.

Grandma Mary reading his card to him.

    V-day Gma

Not only did Mommy and Daddy get Nathaniel something for Valentine's Day, but so did Grandma! Wow! He was in his glory~ here he is with all his goodies.

    V-day all the goodies

He didn't waste any time: partaking of his chocolate!

    V-day- diggin in

I let Nathaniel go outside and play in the snow the other day. He has too much energy to stay cooped up inside.

    playin in the snow

Daddy went out and joined him. Atlee taught Nathaniel to eat the snow.

Daddy and Nathaniel built their first snowman together.

Sunday afternoons are great times for naps. Awe!

    nap time with Dad

Daddy wasn't ready to get up. . .but Nate sure was!

    That's all for now, folks.

  • Hey all of you out there in xanga land. It's been a while since I updated last. . .life has a way of going rapidly by. I thought it would be good to update again. Here's a few pictures of our every day life.

Here's my "little miss goodness" as I call her.

    Elaina's new outfit

This picture is for my Aunt Debra. She bought this outfit for Elaina.

About Me

  • First of all, I am privileged to be the wife of a wonderful man and the mother of our son. I am also a creative person who enjoys anything artistic and anything that speaks to our God-given desire for beauty. I am also a romantic person who enjoys dramatics, dance, music and anything that requires enthusiasm or expression. This is one reason why I like public speaking, public reading, and teaching. I thoroughly enjoy deep, heart-to-heart conversations and a good challenge. I love to make people laugh. I like scrap booking, photography, cooking, painting, drawing, and writing. I get a thrill out of finding name brands or expensive items for low prices. I like working on any project that calls me to creativity; whether it’s refinishing a room, cooking a nice meal, or framing a picture. I also enjoy seeing new places.

Hi, Rach... So nice to find someone I know in this Xanga maze. And, comforting. Among all the going-to-Bible-school, serving-at-missions, etc. (which is great, by the way!!) there's another mom out there who finds inspiration in her little world of laundry, changing diapers, and fixing bottles.
