It's Happened Again

My heart breaks at the thought of her face.
Her voice causes tears to run down my face.
My world is crushed, it's my fault.
We are victims of ourselves.
No one is to blame but us.

My heart hurts. I've given up someone who was so very very special to me, because our visions of the future differed. I want to be with her. She wants to be with me.

We just dont want it enough i guess.
We're both unwilling to give up completely.

And we've given up on eachother.

We're still friends. Which is more than I could ask of her.
I need her in my life. In one form or another.

She's my best friend.

I want her to be happy again. I want her to smile and laugh and dance and sing (she's got such a beautiful voice). I want her to be joyful, and grow so close to God people can see Him living in her.

But mostly i want her to be happy. even if it's not with me.

Please, please Father. Make her happy. Don't take these feelings completly away, but dull them enough for me to move on. She made me happier than i've ever been. Together we grew close to You. We built each other up. Our differences forced us to talk more about You and Your Word. She loves you, Heavenly Father. Show Yourself to her through this.

And for me, God. I need you. I need you more than I need her.

I'm sorry i'm such a downer, dearest reader.

Major Change

I have, once again, changed my college major. I am no longer a pre-nursing student, rather, i am now a student pursuing an associate's degree in Emergency Medical Services. In 2-3  years, if all goes well, i will be working as a paramedic. what follows is my reasoning for doing so:

1.i will be working more with actual cases. meanding that instead of just cleaning bedpans, changing dressings, and doing all the dirty work, i will be taking care of people who are recently wounded or have a health issue that needs immediate attention.

2.i will see results of my work sooner. rather than simple "make them comfortable" care, i will be either saving lives or losing them. it will be my responsibility to make sure someone stays alive between the site of an accident and the hospital.

3.it takes a LOT less time. the entire EMS program is 75 credit hours. the first of three steps in the nursing program is 35.

anyways, that's the "major change" in my life

True Love

Recently i've realized that i still like a young lady that i used to date. it occured to me that on several occassions i told this particular young lady that i loved her and that i would love her forever. this has got me thinking about love and what it means to be "in love" with someone. particularly what the prase "true love" entails. several questions arise in my mind about this concept of "true love"

what, exactly, is true love? does it mean infatuation? is it something deeper than that? can one person have true love for another, and not have it be returned? does true love exist at all? how does one experience true love? is it something physical? is it something emotional? are there ties that last forever? can true love exist where romantic love does not?

what is the deal here?

Obviously there's a miscommunication

Somebody has started to straighten some of these thoughtless and ungrateful people out. And I am even more grateful that it was someone serving in one of the branches of military.

Military paid too much ? You be the judge !
This is an Airman's response to Cindy Williams' editorial piece in the Washington Times about MILITARY PAY, it should be printed in all newspapers across America.

On Nov. 12, Ms Cindy Williams (from Laverne and Shirley TV show) wrote a piece for the Washington Times, denouncing the pay raise coming service members' way this year -- citing that the stated 13% wage was more than they deserve.

A young airman from Hill AFB responds to her article below. He ought to get a bonus for this.

"Ms Williams:

I just had the pleasure of reading your column, "Our GIs earn enough" and I am a bit confused. Frankly, I'm wondering where this vaunted overpayment is going, because as far as I can tell, it disappears every month between DFAS (The Defense Finance and Accounting Service) and my bank account.

Checking my latest earnings statement I see that I make $1,117.80 before taxes. After taxes, I take home $874.20. When I run that through the calculator, I come up with an annual salary of $13,413.60 before taxes, and $10,490.40, after.

I work in the Air Force Network Control Center where I am part of the team responsible for a 5,000 host computer network. I am involved with infrastructure segments, specifically with Cisco Systems equipment. A quick check under jobs for Network Technicians in the Washington, D.C. area reveals a position in my career field, requiring three years experience with my job. Amazingly, this job does NOT pay $13,413.60 a year. No, this job is being offered at $70,000 to $80,000 per annum... I'm sure you can draw the obvious conclusions.

Given the tenor of your column, I would assume that you NEVER had the pleasure of serving your country in our armed forces. Before you take it upon yourself to once more castigate congressional and DOD leadership for attempting to get the families in the military's lowest pay brackets off of WIC and food stamps, I suggest that you join a group of deploying soldiers headed for AFGHANISTAN; I leave the choice of service branch up to you.

Whatever choice you make, though, opt for the SIX month rotation: it will guarantee you the longest possible time away from your family and friends, thus giving you full "deployment experience." As your group prepares to board the plane, make sure to note the spouses and children who are saying good-bye to their loved ones. Also take care to note that several families are still unsure of how they'll be able to make ends meet while the primary breadwinner is gone -- obviously they've been squandering the "vast" piles of cash the government has been giving them.

Try to deploy over a major holiday; Christmas and Thanksgiving are perennial favorites. And when you're actually over there, sitting in a foxhole, shivering against the cold desert night; and the flight sergeant tells you that there aren't enough people on shift to relieve you for chow, remember this: trade whatever MRE (meal-ready-to-eat) you manage to get for the tuna noodle casserole or cheese tortellini, and add Tabasco to everything. This gives some flavor. Talk to your loved ones as often as you are permitted; it won't nearly be long enough or often enough, but take what you can get and be thankful for it.

You may have picked up on the fact that I disagree with most of the points you present in your opined piece.

But, tomorrow from KABUL, I will defend to the death your right to say it.

You see, I am an American fighting man, a guarantor of your First Amendment rights and every other right you cherish. On a daily basis, my brother and sister soldiers worldwide ensure that you and people like you can thumb your collective nose at us, all on a salary that is nothing short of pitiful and under conditions that would make most people cringe. We hemorrhage our best and brightest into the private sector because we can't offer the stability and pay of civilian companies.

And you, Ms. Williams, have the gall to say that we make more than we deserve? Rubbish!

A1C Michael Bragg Hill AFB AFNCC

IF YOU AGREE, PLEASE SIGN AND PASS THIS ALONG TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE AND SHOW OUR SUPPORT OF THE AMERICAN FIGHTING MEN AND WOMEN. THANK YOU.

Alice Cooper

 i found this on wikipedia....

Although he doesn't like to boast of his religion, Cooper has confirmed in interviews that he is in fact a born again Christian. He has avoided "celebrity Christianity" because, as Cooper states himself: "it's really easy to focus on Alice Cooper and not on Christ. I'm a rock singer. I'm nothing more than that. I'm not a philosopher. I consider myself low on the totem pole of knowledgeable Christians. So, don't look for answers from me".

When asked by the British Sunday Times Magazine in 2001 how a rebellious shock-rocker could be a Christian, Alice is creditted with providing this response "Drinking beer is easy. Trashing your hotel room is easy. But being a Christian, that's a tough call. That's real rebellion!"
