  • My Break.......

    • Quiet evening spent watching videos, crocheting, and just talking about life in general
    • Went to bed about 11pm and slept strait thru until 8am (at which point Oscar called me to let me know that all was well with the kids )
    • Rolled over and went back to sleep for another hour and a half
    • Enjoyed a beautiful walk on the beach in the sunshine
    • Collected a bag of shells for the kids
    • Walked to the coffee shop for a danish and coffee
    • Watched another movie while crocheting more
    • Ate leftovers from supper the night before for lunch
    • Went shopping at Micheals
    • Returned home about 5pm

    .......was WONDERFUL!!!

  • Updates

    1. Started painting Kathleen's house yesterday...can't wait to see how things look once we are done
    2. School is FINISHED!!!
    3. Snake number #5 had a mishap crossing the road in front of our house
    4. Snake #6 was nearly stepped on as I went to pick asperagus in the garden last evening....nearly giving me heart failure
    5. Ate something that disagreed with me last night....made for a rough night...so I am staying home this morning instead of heading out to paint some more.
    6. Watching an extra kid today so Grandma can go and help with the painting too.
    7. Mom's night and day away starts at 3pm today.....only 4.6 hours to go!!!!  I don't even care that it is raining and we won't really enjoy the beach....I just want to be able to sit somewhere, crochet, have adult conversation and not have to change diapers, settle disputes or feed anybody.
    8. Marci lost another tooth.....with the accidental help of her older brother....it was slightly loose....but an accident with an attempt at acrobats made it extremely loose.....it fell out the next morning when she touched it.
    9. Hope you all have a great weekend!

  • Back home again.....feeling exhausted....but enjoying the feeling of accomplishment that comes with a busy, productive day.

Kathleen....the sister who is moving....is fairly 'settled' into her new home....not nearly everything is unpacked yet, but she has a place to sleep, food to eat and a place to sit down when she needs a break.  For all you local folks...and relatives....I think we will be having a housewarming sometime before long for her.  I will keep you posted on it.  She is moving into an assisted living home to be the head caregiver.  Once she and Kavoga are married they will be living there together.  He can still have another job, she can finish studying for her masters degree while not having to pay rent or house payments.  I think it will be a benefit to them.  She has a helper who is there to assist her in the elder care 5 days a week.  That will give her a chance to be out on those days.  Only the client rooms are furnished, she has to furnish the rest of the house.

After staying and helping through lunch time, we then took all the kids down to the beach.  Well, maybe I should say.....I took all the kids to the beach.  My four and my nephew.  They had a grand time, finding treasure, wading in the water and digging in the sand.

Since the storm the other day, lots of things were washed up on the beach....making it a great time to treasure hunt

I was surprised that there weren't many of these horseshoe crabs washed up.  This one was alive...we turned it over and it swam off into the water again.

I expected that the kids would get a bit wet, so I took extra clothing along for them....I refused to give in to their pleading to wear their swimming suits....it is just a bit early for that yet!

Antony enjoyed playing "wave tag" and couldn't find the time to hold still for a photo.....I think he was loosing the game pretty badly.....at one point he told me the score was Ocean 27 ~ Antony 3.....(I don't think he was trying to win too hard)

Marten didn't find the waves so impressive....he liked to watch them but stayed well out of their reach.

Buckets filled with "treasure" were hauled home.....then for the next hour an Ocean Exhibit was constructed in the wagon......(hence, mommy had the time to write this post!!)

You know, I think maybe the swimming suits wouldn't have been such an outlandish idea after all!

  • Not much time to post this morning....It is moving day for my sister....we are going to help!  Afterwards, since she will be living closer to the beach than us....we are taking a "school trip" to the beach to look for treasures that might have washed up with the storm.....gotta run!  Have a blessed day serving our LORD!!!

    Blessings~

About Me

  • I'm a mid thirties mom of 4 children 6 and under. Wife to a chicken farmer/carpenter, and a geriatrics home provider. I'm living the dreams of my childhood, and am generally very happy about it. (However, life has a way of making you question your dreams from time to time)
