Back home again.....feeling exhausted....but enjoying the feeling of accomplishment that comes with a busy, productive day.
Kathleen....the sister who is moving....is fairly 'settled' into her new home....not nearly everything is unpacked yet, but she has a place to sleep, food to eat and a place to sit down when she needs a break. For all you local folks...and relatives....I think we will be having a housewarming sometime before long for her. I will keep you posted on it. She is moving into an assisted living home to be the head caregiver. Once she and Kavoga are married they will be living there together. He can still have another job, she can finish studying for her masters degree while not having to pay rent or house payments. I think it will be a benefit to them. She has a helper who is there to assist her in the elder care 5 days a week. That will give her a chance to be out on those days. Only the client rooms are furnished, she has to furnish the rest of the house.
After staying and helping through lunch time, we then took all the kids down to the beach. Well, maybe I should say.....I took all the kids to the beach. My four and my nephew. They had a grand time, finding treasure, wading in the water and digging in the sand.
Since the storm the other day, lots of things were washed up on the beach....making it a great time to treasure hunt
I was surprised that there weren't many of these horseshoe crabs washed up. This one was alive...we turned it over and it swam off into the water again.
I expected that the kids would get a bit wet, so I took extra clothing along for them....I refused to give in to their pleading to wear their swimming suits....it is just a bit early for that yet!
Antony enjoyed playing "wave tag" and couldn't find the time to hold still for a photo.....I think he was loosing the game pretty badly.....at one point he told me the score was Ocean 27 ~ Antony 3.....(I don't think he was trying to win too hard)
Marten didn't find the waves so impressive....he liked to watch them but stayed well out of their reach.
Buckets filled with "treasure" were hauled home.....then for the next hour an Ocean Exhibit was constructed in the wagon......(hence, mommy had the time to write this post!!)
You know, I think maybe the swimming suits wouldn't have been such an outlandish idea after all!
