End of Summer

I'm moving to Brooklyn.  It's official.  I'm going to live the hipster/bohemian lifestyle in Williamsburg.  To the apartment I've been living in up to now: It was fun, you are beautiful, I'll miss you.  To the grungy loft on Metropolitan Avenue: Please don't eat me.

The summer felt so short and I can hardly believe it's already been a month since school started.  Recap of the summer in photos:

First up, Fourth of July party at my place.  Right after I chopped off all my hair.

Then motherfuckin' wing night with Katy Tull and all her crazy Bard friends.

Up to Skidmore to visit Jenn.  We went to a John Meyer/Sheryl Crow concert.  Then we went to....

Bet money on horses at the Saratoga Springs racetracks.

Off to Switzerland and Italy for two weeks:

The breathtaking Lake Luzern.  P.S. I'm moving to Switzerland.

Ali in a tram up the mountain.  I don't know why it rotated back to being sideways.

My chic mother posing at Lake Lugano near the Italian border.

Christina in Milan.  I really don't know how to flip this around.

The spectacular Lake Como where we laid around for hours.  I wish I was laying around there now...

Christina in front of a sex shop/cinema.  Notice the chick to the right with her boobs hanging out.  This was the only street in all of Zurich where it was even remotely kinky.  And it was safe.

And lastly...

Lawerenceville people I haven't seen in ages.  Gathering for Tara's big 21st birthday.

Since I didn't go back home to Taiwan this summer, I'm having a real feeling of detachment.  Nevertheless, the summer was fun and it was good to stay in New York, especially since most of my friends stayed here too.  P.S. My xanga is going to waste...

Finally....the update!

Okay.  So I know it's been two months and I've been neglecting my poor, poor xanga, and my only excuse is that I'm a lazy bum.  But seriously, I've been busy and here's why:

I'm taking summer classes, the first session is over.  My class was called 'A Brief History of Sexuality', which has the word 'sex' in it, I know, but I can honestly say the class was boring.  I mean, we didn't even get to watch porn.  We just read about it.  And there weren't even pictures.

Anyway, so then Christina and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to L.A. to escape New York's depressing thunderstorms.  The trip was tres chic (as they say in France) and here are some pictures to prove it:

First off, me being really hot.  Hah!

Johnny and Chris on our way to the beach.

An old school automobile.

We got to see....Greg!!!  I have no idea wtf he's doing in this picture.

Some random kids blasting music from a convertible let me take their picture.  Adios.

On our last day, we got to see....Joe!!  Yay!  Joe reminds me of Totoro.

So that was L.A.  A lot more happened, but I kept forgetting to whip out my camera.  Especially on our nighttime beach escapade.  Darn.

I went up to Cornell to visit Ling and Gillian.  It was Slope Day - a poor excuse for everyone to get drunk at nine in the morning.   I've forgotten how different campus life is to city life.

Me, Gillian, and Ling.  Awww...we're so cute!

My phone conversation with Sylvia:
M: Where are you?!?
S: By the tree!
M: There're like, 200 trees here!
S: I'm with the huge group of Asians!
M: Uh.....ok wait, what're you wearing?
S: A really short skirt, fobby trucker hat, REALLY high heels.  I'm in my slutty outfit!
M: Oh, I see you.
*I'm not kidding, this was seriously our conversation.*

Ling and me.  Hahaha...I'm so cool.  This was right before we realized we touched bird poop on the railing.  Not so cool.

The rest are just random, random pictures from the past few weeks.

Me and Joan, whom I haven't seen in over a YEAR.  I suck at keeping in touch.

With the old Lawrenceville crew.  Look!  We're all grown up.

Me, Gillian, and the plastic chef.  Yeah, he was a hottie.

And finally, just from today, some craaaaazy chick taking her 'Australian bearded dragon' out for a walk on the streets of New York.  I think she was on crack.

That's the past two months in a nutshell.  Oh and I forgot to mention I had a job hostessing at a restaurant.  For a month.  I just quit.  It was one of those posh French restaurants where the waiters are all dressed to the nines, the food is overpriced, and the clients are all about to die from old age.  Basically, the manager was an asshole, I wasn't learning anything, and on top of it all, they wouldn't let me eat the food!  Now I'm just whining, so let me stop.

Hope everyone is doing well, and I'm off to find a new job.  How exhilirating.

The Monthly Update

A recap of this past month:

Ali comes to visit in New York!

We go with some of her friends to a super Asian party hosted by NYU's lambda frat (which I didn't know we had). It was the biggest congregation of Asians I've seen in a while...

I stuff my face with ice cream at ultimate tourist spot, Serendipity.

I go with my friends Elissa (Connecticut prep), Katie (California chic), and Igor (Polish aristocrat) to a place appropriately named A.P.T. (super exculsive - meaning the size of my room with 70 people packed in)

I go crazy with the napkins and pretend to be a bandit on someone's porch in Chelsea.

We haul the party over to Hudson Hotel just as it's closing down and pose for a photomontage before I say goodbye and slip off.

Note: This is NOT the only thing I've been doing with my life. I've been going to classes and studying, but I did quit my job at Borders because I realized the salary was NOT worth all the time I wasted in the store.

Heading up to Cornell on a six-to-eight hour drive with my friend in order to visit Ling, Gillian, and Sylvia. Yay!

Lastly, something to make you smile...

My little cousin.

Bye!

My Underrated Spring Break

I'm currently on spring break and I had big plans to travel to somewhere warm and beachy. Unfortunately, all I will be doing is staying in New York. A friend invited me to stay with him in Miami, but I'd only be able to go for two days. So I'm here and although we had a few teasingly warm days, it's back to being the rainy March it's been for the past few weeks.

BUT I will not let myself be deterred from enjoying this break. So far, I've done a ton of random stuff with Ali, met up with Ben, ate lots of chocolate, and I STILL have the whole week ahead of me!

Another random picture of...me and a hookah:

That was my update. The end!

Wendy's and Randoms

Edit: I give up! Sorry Greg, no more picture of you.

I just came back from Wendy's with Ali. And she BURPED IN MY FACE. After she ate beans and chili. It's been fun with her around. Hehehe....

Long overdue pictures from winter break:

Me at FiFi's on James Bond night. I won!

Image hosting by Photobucket
Ling and Amy.

Greg and Albert.

Me and Kelvin. (With me as a tai ke)

Pimpin' with Jess and her cousin. Who looks like he's 40.

The car that Ali rear-ended on our way back from a roadtrip. We chipped the paint on his bumper and his girlfriend freaked out and wanted to call the cops.

Me and my mother somewhere in Hualien.

Ali and Sylvia's butts in the back of the van when they were trying to sleep. Sylvia was snoring...

Trying to light a gravity bong on Greg's really really windy roof.

The end!
