| NYC'S taxi Goes GreenCan it be true? NYC's taxi are planning on going green by 2012. Base on today's article on yahoo news, it seems like Mayor Bloomberg is taking the initiative to make a statement and atleast be the first to set an example for other mayors. Kudos to Bloomberg. | One Carbon Sink Is Filling UpIt saddens me to see how ignorant and naive people are when it comes to the issue of Global Warming. I had a coworker of mine who had said to me the other day that his friend thinks Global Warming is a conspiracy made by the government so they could control us. ??? Are you kidding me? The thing is, I'm pretty sure there are other people out there who has the same radical ideas or perception. It makes me feel a bit nauseated to hear such things (more hurt than angry I guess). Sometimes I question myself whether I'm a bit too passionate about this issue, but then again this earth was a gift from God. The food we eat, the woods from the trees that are used to build the house that we live in is what we should be thankful for. So all I can really do is be an advocate of Global Warming, pray, and hope others will feel the same. I read this article today and thought I should share it with others. One Carbon Sink Is Filling UpThe Southern Ocean has grown saturated with CO2 and may lose its capacity to mitigate global warming, according to new research. http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,483540,00.html | | |
| I was involved with the March of Dimes walk to raise money to support the efforts to help save babies. Thought I shared some of the pictures. I didnt put much effort into finding the right shots. I was a bit tired and overwhelmed by the number of people who had attended. The most rewarding part was our group had won first prize for raising the most amount of donations for the cause.

| I Have A Cool Dog No one writes about their dogs and how cool they are, but I'm about to. Thats because I truly believe my dog Lexie is the coolest animal on this planet. I have a female Lhasa Apso who I had adopted about 2 years ago in Las Vegas and at the time I was unaware she was pregnant and for some reason the Vet didnt either. Weird situation. But anyways, after 3 months into the adoption, she ended up giving birth to 5 healthy puppies under my couch. I've never had any formal training in dealing with babies, especially 5 from a dog. But the strangest thing is, Lexie my Lhasa Apso took care of the entire situation and I just stood there in awe. So thats 1 reason why she is cool.
- The second reason is I never potty trained her. She kinda figured it out on her own. Yess. So that came easy.
- The third reason is she knows her neighborhood pretty well. I've actually let her loose a few times when we went jogging and she would always run home waiting for me at the front door.
- The fourth reason is she's cute and thats the main reason why she is cool.
This is one of her pups.

| Go Green At Work - Try A Recycling ProgramAt work we are offered two options to get our daily intakes of liquids either through the typical consumption of a water bottle or a soda can. At times I would just reuse my foam cup to get a glass of water, but by the end of the day, a cold soda sounds real good and it keeps me up when I get tired at work. I'm pretty sure everyone else can relate. But my point is really how many soda cans and plastic bottles do we throw away on a daily basis? So I did this study, "Americans throw away 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour." THATS OUTRAGEOUS. And on top of that "recycling an aluminum soda can saves 96% of the energy used to make a can from ore, and produces 95% less air pollution and 97% less water pollution." I found this information on CleanAir.org and my goal really is to start a Recycling Program geared for plastics and aluminum cans. Observing my own co-workers I would guess they consume an average of 2-3 soda cans a day. Now theres about 10,000 employees in this company I work for so if everyone consumes 2-3 cans a day thats an average of 20,000-30,000 soda cans a day. So where do I go from here but to try to start a recycling program at work and hope others would support me within my department and hope others would do the same. This is the only planet we have so we should take some time off on our end and support the cause of going green. Taking small steps can lead to bigger things and dreams.
