| Two Conversations Two conversations, two different people, one question: Should I buy an Xbox? Conversation 1 Jenny: Didn't you just buy a PSP? Greg: Yes, and it was a great decision. Jenny: What about the Wii? And the Playstation [2]? Are you going to keep playing those? Do you have time for all of them? Greg: I only play the Wii with you. And I'd probably retire the PS2 if I bought an Xbox. Jenny: Fine - but only if you get the WALL-E game. Conversation 2 Danielle: Do you have a Playstation? Greg: Yes, a PS2. Danielle: And you have a Wii? Greg: Yes. Danielle: Then I think you need an Xbox. What do YOU think? "Don't you think Greg should take me home with him?"

| Discovering...

A few months ago, Jenny and I watched Across the Universe, the musical set in Vietnam War-era America, set to the (adapted) music of the Beatles. I'm pretty sure I enjoyed it much more than she did, but one song in particular caught both of our ears: "I've Just Seen a Face," a McCartney-penned track from Help! that sounds an awful lot like Simon & Garfunkel (in a good way).
This led to my purchase of the Help! album [1965], and later burning of all their subsequent albums (thanks to a co-worker who often talks music with me). I've always said I wasn't much of a Beatles fan, but as it turns out, I didn't know what I was missing. Help! and Rubber Soul have been in heavy rotation now, and "I've Just Seen a Face" and "I'm Looking Through You" are now two of my favorite songs. I also discovered a great appreciation for George Harrison's contribution to the Four, particularly songs like "Here Comes the Sun" and "I Me Mine."
If you're like me, and never really gave the Beatles a chance, I strongly suggest you change your mind.
UPDATE: Here's my personal Beatles mix (with a bunch of other songs that didn't make the cut tacked on to the end) | | |
| The Bolivian Gray Titi To be filed under: Topics I'm Not Mature Enough to Discuss. There is a variety monkey at the Philadelphia Zoo called the Bolivian Gray Titi. This gem of a paragraph had me crying: Bolivian gray titis have not been well-studied in the wild. Other titi species are known to be largely frugivorous (eating mostly fruit), but also eat leaves and insects. In the Zoo, we feed the titis a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, insects (like mealworms and crickets), and a primate "chow" that provides most of their basic nutritional needs. link

| The Songs of 2007 Not all of these songs were released in 2007. Instead, think of
this as the list of my most-played songs over the past 12 months.
This is not a ranking of songs. Rather, this is the likely order I would play these tracks on a "2007 Recap" radio show. The Songs of 2007
