I'm no street pharmicist, but when you break it down like that then it
looks like the US imports the most "drugs" out of any cartel I've ever
heard of.
Bad Customer Service...

So I was in Fredericksburg this weekend. If you haven't been, I highly recommend you check it out. The beer was incredible. The food was good as well, which leads me into my title.

So you know when you go inside a restaurant and you wait to be seated at the entrance? Well I was standing right in front of the "waiter" or whatever he was for about 3 minutes and he never took my name down. It was really awkward. I mean we were practically having a staring contest and this guy didn't even ask "how many?" or "would you like to be seated inside or out?". I just took that as a sign that it'd be in my best interest to pursue other dining options.

Well I guess I'll be testing for promotion next week. I guess I should try and score really well on it, but my fate is pretty much sealed as far as staying in the military goes. I'll probably be seperating around Thanksgiving. I planned on re-enlisting, but oh well. If plans worked out how they were intended then: We'd still have the Titanic, The Mein Kempf would be required in the curriculum, and I wouldn't have joined the Air Force. I guess I'll be back where I started.

Oh well, I'm sure the "skills" the Air Force has given me will more than make up for lost time. I've become an acronym master. I mean is there a limit on how many characters an acronym can be?
Here we go again...

I haven't had an entry for awhile. I guess that's what happens when you get married; you forget about all the important things in life like making weblog entries and start being responsible. Oh well. It's not like I have a loyal following of fans who read these things.

So I'll have been married for one year come April 23rd. We went to a wedding last night that kinda brought back some memories. Good stuff. It was a Catholic wedding, but not really. All Catholic weddings I've gone to had mass amounts of alcohol. I was a little disappointed with the lack of alcohol. Luckily some of the groomsmen brought some coolers full of beer along with a bottle of whiskey. It was like high school prom all over again......

So I was looking at house the other day and you know what I realized? Everything in San Antonio is near Sea World! Every add I looked at said they were close to Sea World. Some of these houses were a good 20 miles away from Sea World. Now I don't know about you, but where I'm from if you have to drive 20 minutes or so to get somewhere then you are not close to anything. Example: My high school was about 20 miles from me, but it only took maybe 15 to get there. I lived on the north side of town and my school was on the south side. Even though it was a reletively short drive, when people asked me where I live I don't tell them "I live close to the high school."

Another thing, I think the city should have a day paying tribute to the allmighty breakfast taco. I think the city gets half it's money from the sale of breakfast tacos. I think I'm gonna get out of the military and buy myself a little shack to sell tacos out of. I don't have to worry about food, I'll have all the chorizo/egg I can handle. Sorry Mike, the bar idea sounded great, but when you live in a country that's getting fatter each year you gotta go with the "sure thing."

So my dad will be turning 60 soon. I'll be throwing up some pics of the party. So my dad was 38 when I was born. Which made my mom 24. Which got me thinking that I may have been the result of my dad going through his mid-life crisis and trying to score some younger women. Who knows? I still haven't heard the "how I met your mother" story yet and something tells me I may not want to.

Well I guess I'll throw some old pics up.......

Which one of these is not like the others? Vince caught me at a bad time.

The hooka from Club Rive. It didn't taste too good to me.

Mike giving the "thumbs up" for the hookah and Vince trying to get the bad taste out of his mouth

I enjoyed the couches they had. I think Vince fell asleep to the techno music...

Like I said, those are some old pics. Like a month old. I've just been busy doing married-people things.
And the winner is....

So I tuned into the Oscars the other night. I did lose a bet. I bet against Hoffmann in "Capote" for best actor. It was a good movie and he did give a great performance. So I guess I owe Mike a six-pack of his choice.

So "Crash" ended up winning best picture and Three-Six Mafia won best original soundtrack. Well the local hip-hop stations down here just loved it. They act like we're still in some civil rights movement. It's like "oh my God!, did you notice how the tone of the night changed when 3-6 Mafia gave their performance?". No I sure didn't, I was busy switching to ESPN during all that filler crap they put in between the selections. I understand why they do it though. I mean actors/actresses probably spend about a week doing their hair, makeup, implants, lypo, etc. It has to last 5 hours or so. That way they can justify that $10,000/night hotel they stayed in just to walk away empty handed and watch 3-6 Maifia leave with an Oscar around his neck.

"March of the Penguins" won best Documentary. I didn't know there were any other documentaries this past year. I guess your documentary really stands out when you get a guy like Morgan Freeman narrating for you. I loved how during the acceptance speech they cut to Freeman and spotlighted him. Was it great creativity/directing that won the best documentary or was is it the inspirational voice of Mr. Freeman? You decide.

Last topic, acceptance speeches. They get better and better each year. I've yet to hear, "I'd like to thank the bellboy who carried my luggage to my suite. If it wasn't for him my wrists probably wouldn't have the strength to hold up this Oscar." I am impressed how they can remember all those names in their speeches. I guess they could be spouting out random names. It's not like I know any of their people.

I've yet to see "Barebac.." I mean "Brokeback" or "Walk the Line" so I can't compare them to "Crash". I guess it's hard to put a bunch of different genres together and decide who's the best. It's like lining up a burrito, hamburger, BBQ chicken, and lasgna only to ask "What is the best tasting?" It all depends on the mood I guess.
Happy Birthday

Well, another year has passed and I decided to go downtown and hang out. We met up at Fast Eddie's Billiards and then headed out.

Jon is looking for tonight's prey. Who will it be.....

I think Mike was trying to pick my nose.

"I am not an alcoholic"

Mike hogging the camera again.

Mista-Mike, Serious-Stew, Smilin-Shane, and Just-Jon.

Immortalized on the River Walk.

Thanks to all who came out. It wasn't a significant age (22) or anything, but it's good to go out and just chill with friends.
Long Time, no blog...

I stumbled on this site after a friend of mine showed me a few of his entries. I guess since my friend showed me the site, I didn't really stumble on it now did I? At any rate I thought I'd give it a shot to see what my thoughts look like on paper.

I guess introductions are in order, so......My name is Nick in case you didn't see it on the left. I don't really have any interest because I don't consider myself dedicated enough to much of anything. I go out to the bars, watch movies, listen to music, go out to eat, cheat on my taxes, etc. That pretty much describes the world's population right there. I have a good time doing whatever so I can't really complain much.

About a year ago, I got married. Which seems weird now that I think about it. It's cool and all, but I just never thought myself to get married so quick. That's the big thing now; get married in your early 20's, get divorced in your mid 20's, and with any luck you'll be married again before you hit 30. Whatever works for you I guess. I never got the whole "It's all over for you now that your married" speech. I still do the same things I used to do. Only now I don't have to go to the clinic every so many partners to get things checked out as I only sleep with one. I guess it's not for everyone though. I have no complaints.

Well that's enough. I wanted to keep it short.
