so lots is going on...i dont feel like posting crap on xanga anymore.

la la la parade of random bad chi

the latest and greatest in the parade of em's bad chi:

1. out of nowhere molly's car (while i was riding in it on saturday) decides to spray coolant everywhere...all over the engine block, under the car...causing it to sit in at least 2 inch deep pools all over the engine.

2. my car (which should have had its tire fixed on Thursday), is still in the shop because the mechanic's tire delivery guy's truck broke down on the way to make a special trip to deliver my tire! i now won't have a car until late tomorrow...and with molly's out of the picture, we are housebound. please feel free to visit and mock us.

3. this morning i checked my email and found that 2 paypal charges had gone through that i hadn't authorized...some jackass hacked into my account and stole almost $300 out of my checking account.

4. ps - i didn't HAVE $300 in my account at the time, so it went overdrawn.

5. pps - i called the bank and the only way for me to get the overdraft charges revoked is to come down there and file a report. great. easy. EXCEPT I HAVE NO VEHICLE!

6. paypal responded immediately, which was great, and the money will be back in my account...within 7-10 business days. (insert stream of creative expletives here)

when it pains it roars.

1. i've recently realized that i like making posts in list format. i have no idea why.

2. i have a head cold and am severely grossed out by the various fluids and semi-fluids leaking out of it. thank you germy preschoolers for passing along the love.

3. i need a haircut and am stoked i get one on tuesday...ahhhhh

4. i really want a new pedicure...but no extra $$ until halloween...hmmm...

5. we're fully moved into the office on Winona Ave. my office space rocks, i have a ton of room and my own custom-made huge desk.

6. the day after we moved in some lame-assed warsaw "gang" sprayed gang symbol-ridden grafitti all over the back of the building. little bastards. we now have a crazy security system that rivals CIA headquarters. you feeling lucky punk?

7. i get to go see a rockin movie on saturday with the matty - very cool. hopefully aimee isnt working and can roll with.

8. i've started planning my vacationing for next year...wheee!  so far i'm gone July 11-14 for a family reunion (the family members i actually like are going to be there!) and hopefully visiting aaron and kato...sweet!

9. so far only two of my friends are getting married next summer and its to each other, so yay for a less expensive 3-month stretch for me!

10. life is good for the moment. despite the mucus. *sniffle*

xanga slacker...

Okay – so as pointed out by my favorite ruthie, I’ve been a xanga slacker…although most of you guys have been too so bah! Anyway, lots of amazingness has been happening over the past 3 weeks…

1. As you’ve already read, I dropped my laptop on my face and almost broke my nose, happily displaying a huge purplish/black bruise from between my eyebrows down to the tip of my nose was awesome. Thankfully its all gone now and my nose seems to have recovered pretty well

2. Last Friday was my book release party which kicked off an AMAZING birthday weekend.  The venue was packed almost the entire night, I got to see all of my incredible friends who drove in from Ohio and Illiniois (and of course my favorite locals too), it was the best.  Bellwether rocked the house and almost made me cry when they played the song they wrote for me.  My debut novel is now immortalized in a song, its incredible.  They played a bunch of new stuff too, even though Eric was losing his voice, they powered through and rocked it for a good 3-4 hours.  Matty had new artwork up and we were debuting his newest pet project, “Little Uglies” – check out his myspace page for more info on that.  Photos of that night will be up as soon as my camera stops being a complete f*&%tard.  After a few hours at shake your steak hanging out with the guys and some choicely fun girls, we headed off home to pass out…I of course couldn’t fall asleep because I was still so completely jazzed.

3. Saturday…my kickass birthday…I’m 24 now…wheee!  The day started way too early, but it was great…aimee, molls and I headed off for spa pedicures at 9am (running on about 4 hours of sleep), which were amazing and gave us all a chance to hang out, catch up and laugh like maniacs along with our hilarious pedicurist.  Then we hit up Cerulean for lunch, which was oh so tasty and we wandered around Winona Lake, randomly finding Rachel working in what used to be clock tower bakery…rawk.  After finally ending up back home, opening presents (I got a new iPod NANO…the NEW NEW NEW one, woohoo!) and watching random tv, we met everybody over at Mad Anthonys to eat, drink and well yeah be merry.  Then it was off to josh and joel’s for much bonfire-ing, hammock-swinging, cake-eating and spider-dodging.

4. Sunday…we all recovered…whew!

ok kids - "bad chi" is the term aaron, matty and i use when i do something insanely clumsy, usually resulting in me breaking something valuable....like my face (just kidding...ok, not really kidding).  it was born out of a 12 month stretch where i was very very very very VERY sleep deprived and had extremely bad luck with my innate clumsiness. and whenever someone else would bang their shin on a table or drop a plate, they would scowl at me and say something to the effect of, "dammit em, quit giving me your bad chi!"

so why this explanation of my bad chi?

last night i dropped my laptop on my face.

you can laugh. seriously. its ridiculous. but ow.

how did i manage this?

i was lying in bed all propped up with pillow, balancing my laptop (a widescreen HP) on my bent knees/tops of my thighs...something i've done for YEARS with no problem and then all of a sudden my left leg spasmed and WHAM! the laptop fell and the top of the screen smashed me right between the eyes on the bridge of my nose.

holy crap it hurt like a (insert your chosen profanity here)

so i got up and checked it out in the mirror and after taking note of the reddish dent in my nose, determined it wasnt broken and eventually went to sleep....

this morning.

i get up and look in the mirror and holy hell i have a huge bruise right on my nose, stretching down the sides toward my eyes...thankfully no black eyes, although how great would my book release party photos be if i had two black eyes?

i also cant wear my glasses because they rest on the bridge of my nose which is swollen, bruised and oh-so tenderly sore....

so i hope you enjoyed this post because honestly it is pretty funny, except for the whole swollen painful nose part.

sigh.

so when you see me in the next few days feel free to point and laugh -- i'll just send my chi over to your house for a visit.
