Condolences over my unappreciated self portrait

Now I truly understand what's 希望越大 失望越大, especially in CSM.

Belated Christmas Present

This is the most surprising christmas present i've ever got!!!
The santa claus (FedEx delivery guy) knocked the front door and woke me up this morning. It's a parcel from the states!

I nearly i forgot that i requested for samples of stamp foil from an american company. I thought they'd just send little sheets of samples. but they sent me 2 test ROLLS!!! and they're totally free!!!
OH MY GOD!!! (i couldn't stop repeating it)

I can't believe how serious people are about the christmas sale!
especially people from hong kong. i'm SO astonished!

I wanted to go to the gym yesterday, but it's closed when i arrived. then i thought aye aye... why not have a haircut. so i went to west end... all barber shops were bloody closed. called toby... they're gonna shop... ...o...k... why not?

Selfridges was a CHAOS... ppl were shopping as if everything was free... it's so packed and i nearly got suffocated... bloody hell... there was even a 60-metre queue waiting to get into Gucci and 75% of the ppl were chinese. (basically throughout the day... every 10 steps i took on oxford street, i could hear cantonese. I was totally stunned by our 購物力...)
by the end of the day, they were disappointed because they didn't hunt enough / anything at all. They were even talking about going to birmingham later because there's selfridges as well. they're damn serious about the sale AS IF it's a necessity to shop for luxurious goods (in a 理直氣壯 way). shame on you, just SHAME ON YOU.

I say i'd rather sleep 24 hours than to have another chaotic day like that.

The LCC MA show 06
I thought MA was all about research. But this was exactly what they lack in the show. There were posters with "sophisticated-looking" information graphics in which the data could be collected in less than half an hour. I wonder how long they spent on the projects despite the professional and consistent presentation. Obviously the college has influenced them. I can see they are all trying to make their work look clean. Well~ This is what I call the other extreme - presentation obsession.

The Hong Kong Hedonism
People ask me why I don't stick around with Hong Kong people here.
People from Hong Kong are great. Friendly, polite, sensible, clean, considerate... And I'm proud to be one of them.
However, they have one thing in common - 享樂主義
This is so true. Even in church. 'cause we are minted (according to my flatmate, Andy). It's a different system in Hong Kong. Our parents support us till we graduate and we don't have to worry about money while we're studying (especially for those studying here).
When I started working online, I realised that I could go to sing k here and burn away the money I earned in 3 hours of hardwork. You can imagine how many hours I'd have to work to compensate my leisure expenses IF I had adopted the conventional lifestyle of a Hong Kong student here. Dining in chinatown, singing k, buying luxurious bday presents for your friends (which I regard as "慷your parents之慨"), treating yourself a grand Christmas present, going to a Christmas ball organised by Chi-SOs to meet your potential bf/gf...

I COULD spend my parents' money like that. But it's starting to make me feel guilty as I didn't earn the money (well, most of it) myself. It's weird to imagine my parents working in an office while I'm burning money in a K room (tho I love singing K). So I'm gonna spend it like a student should.
I'm here to study. I'm here to professionalise myself. I'm not here JUST to enjoy my life.
I'm JUST trying to avoid wasting my money and, even more importantly, my precious TIME.
