Your prayers are greatly appreciated....

Thanks for the encouraging words this weekend.  Here is a email I sent the
staff: (please feel free to share this with the prayer team and anyone else)

Hi all,

THANKS for your encouraging emails, prayers and various types of support.

I credit these intercessions toward my ability to be strong for my
non-Christian family and for the wisdom in understanding and accepting the
situation.

By next Friday the 15th, we will know if my mother will come out of the
comma or have to be let go of.  She has not responded in any "meaningful"
way (cognitive response to her name or waking up out of the co! mma) that the
doctors are looking for since last Friday. Al! l of her responses so far have
been "primitive neurological responses", not any "meaningful" cognitive
responses.  Since one is brain dead after 3mins without oxygen and dead
after 5mins without oxygen she is most likely not recovering because she was
given 15-20 minutes of resuscitation.  (Meaning she was most likely dead
(w/o oxygen) 5-10 minutes or more before they resuscitated her)

I have given her over to the Lord and find comfort that He is a just and
fair God.  From all I know, she has never personally ask Christ to be her
Lord and Savior. Regardless, I know God loves her more then I could ever
through His Son's death.

However, my family (four other siblings and many other relatives) is not
believers and is not finding comfort but is experiencing a lot of guilt from
past negative interactions or simply not interacting with my mom at all.

Please pray for continuous opportunities for God us! e this tragedy for His
glory.

Also pray for Donna's physical and emotional strength as she supports my
family through this defining moment.

Personally, I am emotionally and physically drained, nothing a little rest
can't cure.

Thanks again for all your support during this season of my family's life,

Sabastian

Last weekend, NewSong LA, NewSong Irvine and NewSong North OC came together to celebrate Christ and the difference He makes when He shows up in our lives. Hundreds of people made decisions to say, "yes" to God for the first time or to recommit their lives to God. I couldn't see all the hands but some tell me they observed almost half of the people who attended--make decisions.

It was definitely a weekend to be remembered! We had a purposeful, meaningful and raucous time worshipping God. I won't forget Ruby Cheng's story, the electric atmosphere, the Holy Spirit's presence, the music and the friendliness of our community. I especially enjoyed watching everyone during our second service jump up and down during the last song! It was fun! Thanks to all those who served. The people at the Anaheim Convention Center said that it was one of the best groups they ever worked with.

Today we launch a fabulous new series called, Blink! In life, there are choices that are made that seem quick . . . but underlying what seems to be spontaneous and random calls -- are factors that help us to make wise decisions. They will determine whether we have a full life or a life of mediocrity.

Have a tough decision you're in the middle of today? A choice that could alter your life? Well, get ready for a series that may save your life.

Easter Service 2005 Pictures :     CLICK HERE

Monday, March 28, 2005

You’re right it’s not just about bunnies and eggs!

We’re glad that you’re here to celebrate with us one of our favorite days of the calendar year. It’s a day we reflect upon the death and resurrection of Christ with millions of other people from around the world!

But what does it mean to you? So what?

Well, what Christ did two thousand years ago has a profound impact on how your life can be radically different today. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to us at this very moment.

Today our prayer is that you may be able to experience Jesus in a new and powerful way. He is the one that can transform something that has the odor of death into a scent of a newborn baby.

Get ready . . . God can work in you right now. How about praying this dangerous prayer before and during the services?

“God, would you reveal yourself to me today through these Easter services?”
