| | Like returning to an old friend...Hey peeps...
It always feels so weird these days whenever I finally decide to Xanga-it again...life takes over and I get too busy writing things for other people and forget to write for myself and you guys! I love school and all the things I do here in Ann Arbor, but everything really sucks up my time, and unfortunately, updating my Xanga audience falls low on my priority list.
The last day of our short fall break is upon us, and I'm sitting at work, half writing this, and half filling RA application file folders. Yes, I do have a job...it's a work-study thing that supplements my freelance work, which comes along every once in a while, but the way I see it, it's extra money in the bank, and God knows I need it.
Here's a little tidbit I've been thinking about in the last week...I tend to enjoy doing things with other people, and seeing them enjoy things brings me joy as well, like showing them a hilarious video on YouTube or bringing them to church with me. I think a lot of that comes from growing up with eight siblings in a really loving family, and just having fun hanging out with them. I just like seeing my friends enjoy something as much as I do, which is why I invite people to concerts, or have people come over to watch The Office every Thursday night.
I think it's the same type of joy that God feels when we find joy in something he's put on Earth for our enjoyment. I've always loved playing sports, music and just being out and enjoying nature. Those are things that He finds beautiful, and He's given them to us so we can appreciate them.
Sometimes, though, people don't get as much enjoyment out of things as I do, and somehow that makes me feel strange. I've been working on trying to be cool with that, because people I know won't always understand the hilarious videos, or understand why I serve an invisible God, or why I think The Office is the funniest show on television.
These are things that God has given to me, for me to appreciate, and I appreciate Him for that!
