For those of you who I have so wrongly neglected to keep updated these past few months, I and my housemates got a cat in November, just before Thanksgiving Break. Back then it was only a kitten, and being the indecisive bunch we were, we could think of no names that would stick and so the kitten would have to deal with the name Kitty.
In Search of Kitty's Gender We were told by one of our friends who took care of Kitty before we made the decision to keep it that it was a she. Not too familiar with cat anatomy at the time, I accepted the cat as a female and so Kitty was an appropriate enough name. After Christmas break, we found out that Kitty was growing a patch of fur on her rear end.... she was also growing more than a patch of fur. It seemed that she was actually a he.
All Greased Up About a month ago, we were making katsu-don (Japanese deep-fried breaded pork over rice). As always, I poured the oil used for the deep-frying out of the pan and into a campbell's soup can to be thrown away at a later time. I put it in the microwave so the cat couldn't get to it. Kitty is notorious for being the hungriest thing in this house. He eats anything, the spoils of war (food that happens to drop on the floor while cooking), his own tail, and I sometimes think he considers eating his own poo. A couple days after we made katsu-don, we noticed we hadn't seen Kitty for a long time. It was typical for him to meow when someone opened their door and beg for food everytime someone passed by the kitchen. However, he was nowhere to be found. Finally, on Valentines Day, we found his little body in the kitchen, alive, but looking very sad and greasy. He had eaten about 3 tablespoons of oil from the campbell's soup can, after someone had taken it out of the microwave so they could use it. Kitty threw up a couple times, but afterwards he seemed a bit better.
Kitty is now in his teenage years. One day he'll have to get his shots. One day he'll have to get fixed (read: snipped). More stories are sure to follow.
i havent posted much this year because i've been so busy learning. let me share with you some of what i've leared this semester:
economics- the person who sits in front of me uses a binder/folder with a closeup face picture of her and her boyfriend on the inside cover.. they look happy; also the person two rows in front of me agrees with everything the professor says because he often nods, has his hand thoughtfully on his chin and looks extremely interested in the lecture marketing- my professor looks a little like the sister of the indian girl in bend it like beckham; also, even if profs tell you that there's no such thing as a dumb question or comment, dont believe them world history- hm.. hard to say. oral communications- juila roberts would be a good spokesperson to help animals because she was in erin brokovich and likes helping with that kinda stuff social psychology- if you want people to like you, ask them to do you favors; also that grad students hate undergrads and you will know this by the grades they give you corporate strategy- my prof was the little kid in the schoolyard who went ballistic when the bully picked on him to show him a lesson so he would never be picked on again
i suppose the news has been out for a while, but anyway, meet the new generation of consoles
definately has the most innovative controller design
kinda the ugliest and most bulky looking of the three, but still is the future of final fantasy and blu-ray
say no to microsoft world domination. this pic here just for comparison
some other things to support: OpenOffice by google and sun Blu-ray hopefully the new successor to cds and dvds
