For my birthday last year, my sister gave me a calendar with pictures of the New Jersey shore for each month...
This morning I remembered that it's now July so I flipped the page and the picture for this month is a beautiful sunrise at Surf City on Long Beach Island (LBI)...

    Man...
We've lived in Chicago for over 20 years and we love it here, but I got to tell you, there's nothing like the Jersey shore to me, especially this time of year...
I didn't think homesickness lasted this long...

Besides growing up within an hour of the shore and spending nearly every summer weekend there as a teenager, and living and working on the Seaside Heights boardwalk one summer, for a number of years we vacationed there with one of Lauren's sisters, renting a house together right on the beach...well, a few steps away from the beach...

I found a site with great shots of Surf City and the memories came flooding back like morning waves...

And here's Springsteen's beautiful "Girls In Their Summer Clothes" video shot entirely on the Jersey shore...
    Enjoy...
Get some sand between your toes...

PS...thanks for the kind words about our dog Jazz...we still miss him terribly...

    Congratulations to my friend Giuseppe...
I've had the privilege of following Giuseppe around the Charlie Trotter's kitchen 3 times, and every time I've gotten an education...
