| IT HAPPENED....AGAIN....I was standing in the kitchen...window open...when it happened....again....that sound.
It's the sound I love to hear especially in the morning hours when the
air is particularly quiet and still. The whistle of a train
passing by. There's nothing fancy about the trains that run
through my town. A lot of them carry coal and other forms of
fuel; not the most  romantic of loads, but still...this carrier is....constant and dependable and echoes it's presence.
A train engineer never has to guess which direction he is going.
His path is laid before him and doesn't change. He has a plan and the
mighty steel beams of track hold what ever load is required of them.
God is like that. His path is True. Strong and True.
Whatever my load, God can carry it. His path leads straight to the
Cross. This is where my burdens are unloaded.
 
What's that noise? This time it's not the whistle of a
train. It's the sound of stillness.
Somehow it beckons me to His
Word. Stillness...I love this sound even more.
Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I AM God."
