| ...so...this is a special occasion...how do I put this....
I JUST SAW COLDPLAY, IN CONCERT....AMAZING!!!!!
It's so incredible that just last summer I was looking forward to
witnessing their genius in Europe, but as you might have guessed, I did
not. So, my WONDERFUL mom bought me tickets for Christmas to go
TONIGHT!!!! I enjoyed and savored each moment: the music, his
voice, the lights, the piano, the tribute to Johnny Cash, and
YELLOW! Though, there was a condition that you could not bring in
a camera so being a good little rule follower, I did NOT...wish I had
because everyone else and their MOM (hahah, literally) did...poo
poo....oh well....it will be forever etched in my memory. I
really need to reflect on this experience more...
on a side note, we ate at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Dallas...FANTABULOUS...esp. the calamari....mmmm, squid...hehehe
much love!
bonne nuit!!!

| Are you familar with that quote, "All good things must come to an
end?" Well, I've heard a lot of people say that at the end of
what they consider good, a movie, a vacation, a class, a relationship,
and the list could go on. Why is it that always on our minds as
we prepare to say adieu. For me, I don't believe, all good things
do not come to an end, they evolve, change or pause. Plus, all
things good come from God and He doesn't end so...there you have
it. I thought of that because I just spent my last day in this
magnificent, there really are no words for, city, PARIS. One of
my friends joked that I might meet a French boy and fall madly in love,
but instead my love affair was with Paris. I love this city like
I have never loved any other place I have lived in for an extended
period of time [Waco and I are still at odds sometimes ].
My mouth drops at every corner, I smile everytime I see the Louvre; I
actually cried today on Le Pont des Arts, which leads into the Square
Court of the Louvre and is one of my favorite spots of look out on the
Seine. A man dressed in a Santa suit was playing Christmas tunes on his
accordian as I walked by and I bent down and gave him a Euro. Tis
the Season?
Last night I attended a Lessons and Carols at The American Cathedral of
Paris (and Episcopalian/Anglican church). I loved it. The
nave was full of worshippers, visiters, regulars, old, young...The
choir was magnificent, I listened to the story of Christ from the fall
of man to the visit of the Magi in both French and English, and sang
carols/hymns in French and English. Advent is such a wonderful
time because it is the time of preparation, the time to receive Christ
into your life again and understand why he came as he did. I am
preparing my heart to return home, a home full of many memories I have
put aside for a time, but am ready to embrace again. How does one
pick up an old life again (paraphrase from Frodo Baggins)? How
will I incorporate my new life in Paris? I don't know, but I do
know this: I want to be not to seem. That is an important part of
being a Zeta and also I think a Christian. Jesus was who he was,
no false appearences, no attempts at pleasing others to sacrifice the
Truth, and therefore I know that however my life may unfold as I step
off that plane in the world of big trucks, BB-Q, Tex-Mex, football and
slow-talking, I will BE.
On that note, I bid you adieu. My days in Paris draw to a close,
but this door is not completely shut, because I do want to return
someday. I hope you've enjoyed my thoughts, because I am debating
whether or not I will continue this Xanga (I signed up mainly for
Paris).
"Soyez dans la joie du Seigneur
Soyez toujours dans la joie,
le Seigneur est proche."
Antienne ouverture

| "And so it begins..." *name that movie!!
I took my l'examen ecrit this morning, 2.5 hours later, I'm feeling
A-OK. It was really a good test. I probably made a few
mistakes, but hey, I'm not French .
Then afterwards I went with two friends to "have a coffee" [said in an
English accent by my Norwegian friend] right by the Pantheon. We
chatted a bit on politics, governmental structures and how we could
save the world. Now that's college. It's such a glorious
day out and I have so much to be thankful for that I'd hate to be
inside, but unfortunately I must do my laundry .
So hopefully I'll be done in a blink of an eye and then I'll go walking
for the rest of the day. Paris is in the process of being
lavishly decorated for Christmas, so if you didn't think if was
glorious before now, you bet you bottom dollar that it is now!
On a side note, Megan and I sang Christmas carols the other day on the
metro, it was fun, but I don't think anyone else thought so too .
A tout a l'heure!
grand bisous
