P.S.153 Hazem Banees 3-323 2/18/04 “Saturn” I chose Saturn because it looks interesting and I want to know how the rings are made. But now I know how the rings are made by looking at books about Saturn. I thought I would learn more about Saturn but I did. Know ill tell you how it looks like. Its made mostly by hydrogen and helium gases. It is the 2nd largest planet. Saturn’s ring system is about 1 kilometer (5/8 miles) thick. Has 31 moons. Its rings are made out of ice. No one knows how much rings is on Saturn. It is the easiest planet to find because of its bright rings. Now ill tell you about Saturn’s biggest moon. Titan is 1,221,850 km from Saturn. The diameter of titan is 5,150 km. The orbital period (days) 15,945. Titan was discovered in 1655 by Christian Huygens. Titan is made out of nitrogen and methane which we cant breathe. Titan has methane seas and rain which may be presented. You can hover around Saturn for a while. You can never land on Saturn because it is a gas just like Jupiter. One year on Saturn is 29.5 years long on Earth. It rotates every 10 hours and 14 minutes. It is the 6th planet away from the sun. Is 888 million miles away from the sun. The orbital speed around the sun is 9.66 kilometers. Number of known moons are 18. I hope one day I could find one moon for Saturn or find how much rings Saturn has by an invention. Or go to Saturn but not to long. |
