My job is killing me right now.
I'm doing this project in which I have to transcribe THOUSANDS of handwritten lines into an excel document. I have a basic template set up, but most of them have to just be entered by hand--there's not much copy and paste or macro action. This is my 4th day on the project and Mr. S is giving me a bunch of crap because it's only about halfway done. Probably a little more than halfway. And, I mean, I'm sitting here every day with fingers flying--it's not like I'm slacking or anything.
I'm going to take it home tonight and finish it (hopefully). I know that if I don't take this preemptive measure, I'll end up working this weekend.
I won't go into how transcribing all this is really oversolving the problem, or how I think the eventual recipient of this document will probably not even read or look at 99% of it, or what a jackhole my boss is being about the whole thing (and about everything). It's just too tiring to even go into it.
Speaking of jackholes, someone hit my car on Sunday in the grocery store parking lot. Again, I don't feel like going into a lot of detail other than to say I did get her information and the estimate from the body shop (and this is with no visible body damage to the car) was over $600. Oh, and I have to be without my car for 3 days. I have rental coverage on my insurance so all that is OK, and she was clearly at fault (I hope the adjustor sees it that way, but really, how could he not?)...so it's just a big hassle, mainly. And I love my car, don't forget, so I hate that something like this has happened to it, even though it's basically insignificant.
The weather seems to be getting to me a little bit this year. I don't normally mind the lack of sun, but this year seems a little different.
On the plus side, my puppy is still cute (the cutest!), and my tennis team is likely going to the playoffs and, actually, we're very likely to finish in 1st place for our division.
I wish I was doing more writing right now, but it's like I just can't sit at the computer any more than I already have to.
I'm supposed to go to Sacramento for spring break, but Florida is looking really good to me. I wonder how mad my sister would be if I told her we're not coming. It's nothing personal, I'd just like to get away, further away than Sacramento.
Speaking of vacations, my boss is talking about going away for a week. I don't think I have to tell you how great that would be.

I'm starting to mull around thoughts of looking for a different job again. My one boss is driving me crazy too. But not nearly quite as bad as Mr. S must be doing to you. Sometimes when he's really bad, I think "he's not as bad as Mr. S" and I can get over it. But he's awfully close lately.
Good luck on the project, hope you get some time to rest this weekend.
You can't even file Insurance in Indiana unless you stand around waiting for the po-po to show up.
Ft. Myers Beach is nice, and affordable. Not chic, but fun and not too expensive!
I don't know what to tell you about the job. How is the job hunt going?
Hope you don't mind me dropping in..I'm just blog surfing.
Let's hope he goes. I was going to say there's always bogglific on facebook for a little guilty fun, but hasbro made them take it down this week.
That project sounds horrendous. Then again, all of the strange projects he makes you do sound that way, each in their own way. I hope that he goes away for the week.
I'm sorry about your car, I hope that the adjustor sees it in your favor.
sounds like you're going to need to get away badly!!! i hate it when ppl hit my car and won't take responsibility for it! sigh! good luck with that!
Yeah, the weather has seemed really dark to me this year too... it seems like it gets dark sooo early!! I'll be happy when the days get longer.
They have some new way to "reply" to a comment... but I'm not sure how it works so I'm double-posting this here... RYC: Yeah, we should totally hook up sometime. :) That would be fun.
When are you going to Florida? I think we're going, too. Did you figure out where you're going?
@eFairy - This "reply" feature is weird. Um, I think we're going to go to Florida at the end of March, like the 22nd for a week. Where in FL and when are you going? I haven't bought tickets yet but that's the general plan, unless my sister gets really upset.
my tennis partner is going to FL in April and we were talking about having our trips coincide so we could play tennis together and his wife is actually on board with this plan--so we'll see. We may postpone until April and go to Sacramento in March.
Like I'm going to be able to get time off.
@officeconfidential -
at least it doesn't say "holla@"
I'll email you.
I can't believe you still work for that turkey. How long has it been, anyway? If I were in your shoes I'd be doing 20-life for homicide by now.
