  • jesus effing christ, cornell! it wasn't supposed to go down like that!

original plan: use interviews at okay md/phd programs as training, take a year off, retake the mcat, apply to md/phd programs the RIGHT way (instead of the crazy piecemeal i-suck-what-am-i-doing-with-my-life way), dedicate myself wholly to interviews, get in somewhere awesome for 2009

what just happened: unexpected interview at tri-i, love, extreme anxiety, mess

i hope they decide i am smart enough for them to pay me to go to medical/graduate school because i think i love them and it is slightly problematic. it's like waiting for the georgetown admissions decision all over again. eff you, deja vu.

  • the single best thing about that kanye/john mayer song, "bittersweet," is that there is a harpischord solo at the beginning.

...nearly two years away from xanga and that's all i have to say.

  • hello! i haven't been here for fifty million years (or six months), so i'd just like to say that i'm still alive. i hope everyone's doing well. word.

cliff's notes of the last half-year of my life:
    -survived freshman year of college
-saw john legend in concert this summer
-heard barack obama speak live at a rally for tim kaine (vote please)
    -published scientific author, HOLLER
-aced my first organic chem test BEFORE the curve, thankyouverymuch
-fall out boy concert last night (starting line and motion city soundtrack too)
    -seeing placido domingo tonight

i live in the library, i took/am taking belly dancing lessons, i have a lot of fun, i work really damn hard, i date boys, and i'm happy. i feel like i've done some growing up.

so...(if you still read this)...how are you?

  • my surrogate family, complete with screaming, fists on foreheads (don't ask), dancing, and--of course--disastrous matchmaking attempts.

    before asiafest:

    after asiafest:

cute, right? i'll spare you the bayanihan pictures because traditional filipino outfits are a little less than flattering. we also like selling halo-halo in the middle of the quad, orchestrating huge afterparties for events that don't really need afterparties, watching videos of our dances in group study rooms in the library (instead of studying) and sneaking into school functions to get free food.

  • EDIT, april 4. (well it's 230 so i guess).

i didn't think this merited a whole new post but it was definitely cool so i'll add it to this one: today i went to the 10 pm mass as usual at the chapel in my school, and who did i see but JOHN KERRY and his lovely wife TERESA HEINZ-KERRY? yes. i went to church with john kerry (who was on crutches). i apologize if this fails to excite you but i think it's pretty damn cool especially considering the fact that i worked for his campaign because i so fervently wanted him to win win win. sigh. but that's a whole different story.

oh bayanihan and the afterparty were AMAZING, by the way. club filipino is SO HOT SO HOT (i overuse that word so much). honestly. don't be sad though, there's another show/afterparty next weekend for asiafest.

the fun never stops at georrrgetown.

    ORIGINAL POST, march 28:

hello! i'm actually updating, sort of.

first of all, bayanihan is on april 2nd (that's this saturday). it's the culture show i was telling you about and it'll be THE BEST DAMN FILIPINO SHOW IN THE AREA. but i'm not really expecting you guys to drag your butts all the way out to georgetown for a two hour show, so that's okay.

the real reason that i'm writing is because we're having an afterparty at FUR and it'll be SO EFFING HOT. if you're over 18 (or have a fake id that says you are), definitely consider going. i promise it will be amazing because our bayanihan choreographer is the PR director for panorama (dc party planning people) so we have the hookup. through club flip, cover is only $10--it's $25 at the door.

so in conclusion: if you and your friends don't have anything to do on saturday and want to party with us, just comment/IM/call/email/stalk me. we don't bite (unless you want us to). plus we can dance. especially when slightly intoxicated.

oh i forgot to write about my life. i'm good. everything's good. spring break was good. easter was good. i hope everyone else is good. come to the bayanihan afterparty. seriously.
