| Just a sample of how awesome my class is. Today at lunch I was on my way to pick the kids up in the lunch room, but one of the other teachers had already released them, so I met them in the hall. I told them to go ahead and go to the classroom and I would be there as soon as I finished running a errand. (Namely gettting ice so I could have a Diet Coke.) I started thinking to myself on my way back that this would be a good test for them. You know, see how they handle themselves when I'm not there. I started to walk back, fully expecting that they would be standing around talking, maybe even running around like crazy people. They were all sitting at their desks reading. In perfect silence. Not "Oh, Miss Hart is coming everyone run and sit down, quick!" silence, but real, actual, genuine silence. They had come in, sat down, and gotten out their books and started reading. Like I told you the other day. I have the best class ever. | | |
| I know, I know. Long time gone. I've been crazy busy. School started Thursday. And let me just say this. I have the most awesome class. EVER. (more to come.) | | |
| Well thanks everyone for all of your prayers. The good thing about trials is that you get to realize how blessed you are. I am so lucky to have so many people who love me and support me.
Right now they are discussing options for my gradma. The tumor is only about 8mm, so they seem to have caught the cancer early, but we are tentative to put her under anesthetics because of her age and health. It's pretty risky. So right now my grandma and aunts are discussing other options.
BTW, I heard a pretty staggering statistic this week. 80% of women who are diagnosed with breast cancer don't have any family history. I knew that I had to worry about a family history of high cholesterol and heart disease, but cancer was not one I worried about. But PLEASE don't discount it just because you don't have a family history!
In other news I am chillaxin' in Ft. Worth this weekend. I've been here since Thursday night house/dog sitting for Em and Fred while they are on vacation. I thought I would be bored, but it has been like a vacation for me too. I have watched tv, done some reading, played with the dog, done yoga, cooked spaghetti (yum!), and yesterday I went to the Ft. Worth Zoo! I love the zoo. I seriously think I could watch the giraffes all day long.
It has kinda been a forced time of calm before the storm hits on Wednesday (staff development starts at work!) and the school year begins. I thought I would be lonely, but I am one of my favourite people to be around! It has been wonderful. I'll be back in Dallas late Sunday, then it's off to the races as the school year begins! YAY!

| I'm feeling the exact opposite while writing this post as I was when writing the other. I got really overwhelmed today as I drove past my ex-nannying family's house. Frustration, hurt, grief, anger, it's all still bubbling under there. It's like I got a big and deep cut and tried to pretend like it wasn't there. I'm not very good at dealing with my emotions. I tend to push them deeper and deeper inside me until I just explode. I'm getting very anxious about school starting. I hate the fear of the unknown. I'm just starting to feel overwhelmed. The crux of all of this is when my mom called. I was up at the school working in my classroom and she dropped the bombshell on me that my grandmother's doctor found a malignant tumor in her breast. We will find out more on Wednesday. Nobody's ever ready for anything like this. I just don't know what to do. Please pray for her. | | |
| Everyone read my xanga title. Right..........now. Rachel makes me laugh. Deborah and Rach and I have been doing a bible study together this summer. I am so grateful for those girls and for the time we get to spend together sharing the word. (Sorry if that sounds cheesy.) I look forward to it so much and really enjoy getting to just sit around and laugh, share about how our lives are going, what God is doing, where we are struggling, etc. I leave every time feeling so happy and exicted about the word. Life is good. Oh, and btw, for those Harry Potter fans who have finished the book, check out this link http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19959323/ Also, Jo Rowling is doing an interview on Dateline on Sunday night. Check it out, I'm sure it's going to be awes. | | |
