Birthday: 1/24/1912 Gender: Female
Interests: 1. Bavarian pickles
2. Making lists with numbered points
3. My family (I've got the coolest!)
4. Making myself smarter by reading, talking to people who know stuff that I don't, and actually paying attention in school (disclaimer: not 100% of the time)
5. Musicals (Sound of Music, Phantom of the Opera, etc.)
6. Jesus. If I could be more like Him, I wouldn't have near so many issues.
7. The Bible. I like it. People think reading the Bible is boring until they actually read it.
8. Politics and cars. Two things I know precious little about, but these are INTERESTS, not things I'm actually good at.
9. And that's all I've got. Expertise: 1. Getting good grades. And then there was college....
2. Leaving these ......... at the end of my sentences....
3. Speaking Spanish.
4. Selling power steering flushes
5. Pleasing people, especially authority figures. An art many students could profit from mastering...

| Campeones!!!Good times were had by all...except maybe Esther. :)
This has nothing to do with the game, I just wanted to show you the paella the school provided for us for our "graduation." For seafood lover, it's quite a treat. I am not a seafood lover.

| Welcome to Eden!!!This, my friends, is the Parque del Buen Retiro. We live just around the corner from the entrance, so it takes us maybe 2 minutes to walk there. KatyJ and I both agree that we are extremely lucky to live with the host moms that we have, and to live so close to such a beautiful park. It's HUGE! We don't know exactly how big, but we walked through it for about an hour and covered less than half of the grounds. Entrance to the rose garden :
It was quite sunny, but we wanted a pic of the two of us in the rose garden :

Peeking over the bushes into the rose garden :
Mom, do you know what kind of tree this is?? Never seen anything like it :
One of the many roads/walkways in El Parque :
Beautiful, isn't it?? And that's just one garden in the park. There's an ever bigger garden that costs money to get into. The rest is free. Makes your day that much better to see the kind of beauty God has put here for us to enjoy. Incredible! | | |
| I was GOING to give a sweeeet update.......but silly ole xanga's picture loader-upper isn't working. So it'll have to wait.
Emily is wrong, by the way. I TOTALLY update more often than she does.
Mom, I'm still alive.

| Semi-Annual Update #2Sheesh, you people are demanding. You're lucky my life is the absolute coolest and chock-ful of eventful stories, or else I wouldn't be able to keep up with my public's demands. Don't panic - I have more to share. Your day just got a little less dull.
A few weeks ago we had a Lip Sync contest to raise money for our Acting on Aids group to send money to the Bethesda AIDs orphans. My hall did "Summer Nights" from Grease. Here are some pics for your enjoyment:
Emily Thomas as Danny Zuko and Jaclyn Ramps as Sandy.

We were split on the stage, the group of girls on the right and the "guys" on the left. Here are our Grease girls:

And the Grease "guys":
Ok, here's one you can actually see me in. This is all of us. I was told we did such a good job of impersonating men that people thought we got together with our brother hall to perform this. High praise???
I like this pic because Bekah (the girl in front in the white) and Armanda (other girl in white) are totally strutting their stuff and getting into it. They're some of my favorites, for sure. This is our brother/sister hall kickball team. We lost 11-0 in the first game and were out of the tournament. But our team name was BLACK FURY which is so cool, it really didn't matter that we were abysmal at kickball. Really.
And, finally, Erin typically posts with sports updates, so I figure I will, too. Here's a picture of me playing intramural soccer. I'm pretty hardcore.
