If it weren't for the heat...

I would love this time of year. But seriously, a heat index of 103 by noon today? Have you seen my skin? I'm not designed to handle this type of climate. I'm glad my flowers love it.

a visitor on my front porch.

There's less than a week left until my first "official" 5k. Which means there's still time to donate to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer foundation.
You can donate directly through my fundraising page:
http://www.active.com/donate/KC2007/malyndaeshleman

And to clear up any confusion, you don't pledge per mile/km. It's just a one-time donation in whatever amount you choose. Even $1 is greatly appreciated. I would like to have at least $100 by Sunday (race day). I only need $25 to make it, and it benefits every woman.

that's pretty funny about the Barrker. So appropo.

I will donate 5.00 - I wish I had more, but alas...

I have a few dear friends suffering right now and one of them - a pastor's wife in Gardner who ran the Boston Marathon - couldn't go the whole way - because she had just been diagnosed, but to think that she ran it was amazing. Her cancer has reoccurred and she's in her 40s.

Hello Ms. Malynda,
You worked hard to make your site so simple yet elegant but I see that you don’t write here much anymore!
I like to write articles about God and religion on my site. I want to help people to really get to know God, especially in these troubled times. Jesus gave us a message of hope that is in the Bible: 14 "This good news of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world. It will be a witness to all nations. Then the end will come." (Matthew 24:14) (NIRV) I hope you get a chance to look at them.
