What happened yesterday wasn't amazing, but horrifying...So to all of you who are friends with my brother, I think you should know this.
Yesterday Ricky got into a car accident and had to be rushed to the hospital. I never thought I would ever see him in that position, and it's a miracle that he's still alive. Had he not had his seat belt on, he would have died. During the wreck he had a minor concution and was partially ejected from the car. He was with Megan who also had to be taken to the hospital.
No he wasn't drunk or under any kind of influence, which I'm very thankful for. He was merging onto the highway and a semi was behind him that he almost hit, so he swerved back to keep from hitting it, but ran into the median. His truck flipped over off of this highway as far as we know, because a lot of it he can't remember.
Luckily he didn't break anything, but his face is a bit busted up and his upper body is incredably sore, as well as a torn up neck. Megan has to get a few stitches in her foot and she had a VERY minor internal bleeding in her brain. Don't worry, there shouldn't be any problems, but she has to stay in the hospital just to be safe.
I take my brother for granted a lot of the time, we fight a lot and it kills me to know that something like this was what had to teach me that he can be taken away from me just as easily as he was given to me. I thank God that he's still alive and that he wasn't hurt too badly. Holding his hand while he was laying there with 4 different IV's in his arm was one of the most terrible things I've ever witnessed. Thank you God for letting me keep my brother and for letting me keep my new friendship with Megan. They are both so important to me and I don't have any idea what I would have done had I lost them.
Please pray for them both and keep them on your mind. And I know it sounds cheesy but please be safe when your driving, because all of you are important to me too.
