| so, i'm in the Cathedral of Learning. it's probably one of my favorite buildings ever. it's just fascinating. i'm sitting in the commons. but not really in the commons. i'm actually just off the hall in a little nook about 3 feet higher from the commons. Alll the furniture is wood. there are throne-like chairs on the sides of the arches, and all the trash cans are hidden between the smaller arches. of course the trash cans are wooden too. the ceilings are 3 stories high, and the huge lights that shine down give just the right amount of light. it's my feeling that the right amount of light can make you feel less stressed. and that's what the cathedral does. everyone is studying or on their laptop. it's the type of place you go when you really need to get work done without feeling frantic.
anyway...that was my fun little look into the cathedral of learning. also, it looks like hogwarts.
i have to give a presentation today in biology lab. i'm a little nervous about it, but it should be fine.
i'm starting to get the hang of this whole college thing. yeah...maybe.

it's pretty much amazing right now. i love my friends here. i miss the ones at home, but i see them every day on my wall.
anyway. today i was in one of those "i want to make other people smile" moods. (i don't know if other people get in those moods or if it's just me). but i decided to buy like 6 of those really big hershey's chocolate bars and just give them to people on my floor. and i did. and it made people smile. it was one of those days when i was working, and i went that extra little step to start a conversation with a customer, or to compliment someone's necklace, or to notice when a couple was printing pictures of their new baby. i'm starting to notice how the little things really matter to people.
