Comic World blues

current fandom:
D.Gray-man
(anime starts oct 06)

the ultimate fandom:
Ouran High School Host Club
(twincest is the word)

After waiting for one whole gruesome year, I have finally had the chance to go to the lesser known anime/manga event in hk; Comic World. For those who has no idea wtf comic world is, it's a function where normal people like you and I (who actually has the guts) to hold up a stall to sell our homemade/handmade anime merchandise. It sounds kinda familiar, huh? I was actually planning to hold a stall with a friend this past febuary Comic World, but both of us had neglected the fact that we actually needed time to revise for exams before it...so we gave up (sad story, really).

ANYWAYS! I didnt actually get a stall this time, but I wanted to go as a normal little anime crazed teenager, and succesfully spend tons of money (actually, it was kind of little considering how much i usually spend in the comic fest (aka, ani-com)(note: gaby still cant get over the idea that the people who organized the event gave it such a cheesy and dull name.) on doujinshi (fancomics) and other miscellaneous merchandise.

But before we talk about what I bought, id like to share with you the pain of going to the actual event hall. Take getting to the mtr station of kowloon bay, anxious to experience the joy of the doujinshi world only to find a 10 yard long line for the FREE shuttle bus to the arena, waiting 1 full hour to get on the bus (getting a biiit annoyed), and getting to the actual building to realise that theres another 500 people trying to get in as well, so you wait an hour and a half to line up for the ticket; standing at the end of the line which is ONE WHOLE FLOOR away from the ticket booth and finding out (by actually going through it) that the building is OVAL shaped so you have to circulate the whole thing before even getting to the stairs to the next floor...

yes...fun...i know...

but I can honestly say it was worth it. not because of all the pretty things i got (well, not completely), but the realisation that these are people like me who began by doodling random things during maths and science class, that even I can publish; that dreams can come true if I try...

=D

eventhough im pretty sure that my parents wont allow me to spend so much of my time making a comic, and that i wont even get a chance to publish since so much is going on already, it kind of gives me great comfort to know that one of those people could have been me.

ANYHOWWW, ON WITH THE PICKIE-TURES!

I'm not dead, yet.

current fandom:
eureka seven
(too many episodes, can't be bothered to check)

the ultimate fandom:
Ouran High School Host Club
(oh yea, spread the propaganda)

Yes, I've realised that I haven't updated this thing for about two months or something (gaby is too lazy to go back and check), and to tell the truth, I've been having so much fun it should be a sin...

For those of you who didn't know, I've been to Japan for a week in the beginning of the summer with Kelly which was quite the experience. Because I've officially developed have a fetish for sliding paper doors. Photos and stuff isn't available yet because at this moment I'm uploading the pictures that Mish so subtley asked for -cough-. Anyways! so after that week of fun filled Osaka joy, I came back to hk to have a fun filled 3 weeks of being home alone cuz my mom (yes, just my mom, not with my dad) went to ny. and no, my parents aren't divorced and/or living apart, it's just that I hardly see my dad anyways so no point in mentioning that. and i swear, my dad is incapable of having an affair.

So once my huge burden of a mother is gone. I went completely crazy and bought myself a thousand dollar's worth of comic/anime merchandise at the comic fest (otherwise known as Ani-com now - seriously, what kind of a name is Ani-com????). So now I officially dominated a whole shoe cupboard with my comics (and I'm very proud of it, thankyou very much.) And after the whole comic fest ordeal, I decided to torment my poor tablet (thats my computer pen for those who don't know) and decided to have a huge doodle fest (hence the ouran propaganda above).

And after I've exhausted every single plot bunny, I realised: hey, I actually have friends to meet. So I had a happy reunion/sleepover with my long lost kennedy pals. and after sharing lots and lots of embarassing/awkward stories/moments with each other, I can truely say that I'm glad that my life revolves around anime so I can avoid all that sappy/corny/awkward/embarassing drama. not that I'm saying I don't like all your stories out there, they were a heck load of amusement and the sleepover was way fun (considering we watched a scary movie that wasnt supposed to be scary but turned out pretty weird.).

So now that my laptop's battery is running out. I shall end this boring post and free you all from the droning and continue this later (later being when I can be bothered).

BYE!

toei animations is running out of ideas...

current fandom:
kamisama kazoku
books: 1-7 (has yet to find chinese translation...depression)
ep: 1 & 2 (its such a shame it only comes out once a week)

[holy crap. click!]

do you SEE that? do you SEE THAT!? theyre actually making an ANIME out of the powerpuff girls.

wow, it must have taken toei animation quite a fortune AND effort to persuade cartoon network to give them the copyrights and those makeovers.

...buttercup looks like some SD form of dragonball/sonic the hedgehog.

aw....and theyre not in townsville anymore either...apparently theyre the protectors of tokyo. TOKYO!?! so only diabolical things happen IN TOKYO!?

ok, enough anime talk.

two more weeks...to more GRUELING weeks till the end of exams, and FREEDOM.
