This is my first entry since I've moved to Yale. Things have been quite hectic with schoolwork piling up. I have exams every two weeks so it feels like I'm constantly studying. I have problem sets due every Friday and readings up the wazoo. I've met some pretty interesting and awesome people here though. It's amazing how much people have done before they got here. I'm also happy to say that there are a few fellow Cal Bears here to keep me company amongst the many Eastcoasters. I have a mix of public health friends, med friends, nursing friends, physician assistant friends (with the majority being in the first two categories.)
Have I done a lot here? You bet. There's always things to do (surprise!) I know, it's New Haven, but I was actually really surprised at the number of bars and clubs they have in this little town. It's great. More things to do and places to eat at beyond my initial expectations. Plus, NYC is only an hour and a half away so if I ever get really bored of hanging out at places around here, I can hop on the train (or catch a ride with a nice friend) and head into the city.
Here are some recent developments:
Fall has arrived in CT. It's quite nice on the days it doesn't rain. The downfall is that...well....it's 4:45pm right now and it's dark already. UGH....Imagine that! Too early for me, which means I'm just going to have to wake up at 6am instead of 8am now :) (probably NOT going to happen since I usually don't go to bed until 3 or 4am)
I found out I am not allergic to Macoun apples! For those of you who didn't know, I have been allergic to apples for as long as I remember. Whenever I eat apples, my throat itches like crazy and the gummy part right on the inside of my lips start doing a little swelling action. Well, I took a chance and tried one of the Macoun apples I picked last Saturday. AND......it was so yummy!!! I'm just sad I didn't pick more because I thought I couldn't eat them before. Next time.
Anyway, back to work. Check back here again. I promise I will try harder to keep you all posted!
