| Celebrate me, and celebrate our friendshipIt's been a while since my last post, and since then a great deal of changes have happened. Moved, changed careers, and much more. This morning I recieved a telephone call, one that I've been expecting for sometime. A very near and dear friend of mine, Bob Stewart, passed away after complications from a broken hip, he contracted pneumonia and was simply unable to fight it off. Bob was one of the nicest and most kind hearted people i've ever had the priveledge of knowing. He spent his entire lifetime as a public servant, starting in the Marine Corp, moving into the Kansas City Police Department, and eventually retiring as a United States Secret Service officer. He lived a long life, and touched the lifes of so many. It's almsot surreal to think of not seeing his devious grin again, but then again i know when the Lord calls me to His side, Bob will be there to welcome me, and so I will not be said that he is gone, rather I will celebrate the life and the love that he has left in his passing. I will remember the advise that he has given me, and ultimately i will celebrate the person that Bob Stewart was. And even though i will not weap for him, or grieve for his passing, i will remember him. I will not let sadness overshadow his life, even though, mostly, i'll just miss my friend. Life is short, and sometimes not well lived, but for those who truly live life, the greatest accomplishment, i believe, is the friendships you forge. When and IF i pass on from this world to join Our Savior, remember that i want you to celebrate me, and my life. Do not weap for me, do not feel sorrow for me being gone. Celebrate our friendship and remember that i will be waiting for you, when it is your time. Your friend, Jeremiah |
