Wow, so it's been a while hasn't it!! I'm sorry I haven't been posting too often, but it's been pretty busy around here. The summertime has been going great so far. Since June, I've been on a few AMAZING trips....

Atlanta, Georgia - Younglife camp
Way too much fun for me to handle! We did rock climbing, mountain biking, exploring the woods, laying by the pool, ziplines, and....We climbed a mountain!!!! The entire camp hiked up a mountain to the very top one day. This included a guy who hurt his, now strapped to a body board and carried by his cabinmates all the way up. It also included a girl confined to a wheelchair, who was "charioted" up to the top by about 6 fit lacrosse boys....she was loving it. Bonds were made and experiences were had by all.

New Braunfels, Texas - Annual Fam Trip
Great as usual, getting to float down the river, hang out with the relatives, eat great food, and RELAX!!!!!

Indianapolis, Indiana - Trip to meet the boyfriend's family
I've never been there before, so I was very excited. It's flat like H-town, but without the convenience of highway feeders, and there is farmland EVERYWHERE!!! Some things I really enjoyed while there....sweet corn (so much better than ours), meeting all of Brad's family, enjoying the Indiana nightlife, wakeboarding, jet skiing, elephant ears (they're sort of like funnel cakes, but way better), and little kitties :)
The latter became our keepsake from Indy....a 4 month old little stray kitty got to ride on an airplane back to Texas with us. She's freakin' cute!!!

Anyways, lots of weddings to look forward to in the next few months (don't worry, not mine), but lots of our friends our getting hitched soon, so we get to attend all of those. I will be in touch with you guys, and hopefully can pack in a mini vacation to see all of you that are out of area.

As most of you know...yesterday was my 26 birthday!!! I had so much fun....
It started out with a half-days work, followed by my zoofriends joining me for lunch at Freebirds. It
didn't stop there, because Brad and I went to Pearland after, and saw old friends of mine for a few hours. When we got home, I had a few hours to realax and prepare for the evening FESTIVITIES!!!!

Brad picked me up on the motorcycle, went to our favorite Italian joint for a while, and had great food and dessert. Midway through dessert, though, he told me we had to go home. Yes, a little weird, but that's Brad. But...when we got home, I had about 15 of my closest friends waiting there to surprise me, with laughter and presents!!!!

Contributions for a most excellent surfboard I've wanted, and a beautiful nano (from the boy) were given to me. I had a blast!!

The best part is what happened later........Dialogue:
Brad: "So, were you surprised?"
Kelli: "Of course"
Brad: "You knew didn't you"
Kelli: "Yeah, actually I've known since Wednesday"

Story: Brad sent out an email on Tuesday evening to all of our friends. Apparently my email was in the group he clicked on to send all the info. Sad thing is that I would've been absolutely and completely surprised had I not known about the email.

Everyone said that I looked actually surprised last night. I let Brad have his proud moment of successfully surprising me, then I let him know later. It was fun making him squirm a few nights before by attempting to make other plans!!! I'm so evil!!

Wht great friends I have!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow...it's been a long time since I wrote on this thing, but I have been checking up on all my friend's blogs in the meantime. I just haven't had much time to write on it myself.

So, what's happenin' with me right now? A 102 lbs. baby giraffe. He remains nameless as of now, but a naming contest will be online sometime this week I think. He's a healthy little spunky thing, and for all my friends and family out that there...this one is Amali's little bro :) And he looks just like her!!!

Go to www.houstonzoo.org to see some pics and to vote on a name.

I'll post some pics soon too!

Last weekend, the fam and I went to a little town in Lousiana to do our annual visiting of the the Festival of Lights.  We saw close friends of ours, watched a small town parade (which consisted of the Sons of the Confederation, a Lumberjack Queen, and way to many Shriners in little cars), saw a beatiful fireworks show, and ate some delicious, yet greasy, fried goodies.  It was wonderful... If you get the chance, you need to get to Natchitoches, Louisiana (where they filmed Steel Magnolias, by the way) during the first weekend of December for this festival...it's a great experience....

OK so we booked it to San Antonio as fast as possible on Thursday night.  After much debate earlier in the week on whether to go to Dallas, Austin, S.A., or further away, we finally decided to wait and watch what Rita was planning and then move from there.  We packed up valuables from my house and Brad's too (plus my dog, Karli) and high-tailed it outta there.  We left at about 2am Friday morning, went 59 south and hit 87 at Victoria, which heads straight into S.A.  There was absolutely no traffic.  We were even able to stop at a gas station before Victoria and fill-up the van.  At about 4:30am, I was getting extremely tired, so I pulled into a dark parking lot at a nursing home and we made a nice pallet in the back of the van. I think we must have been exhausted, because we've both have never slept so good in a car.  We woke up around 9am and headed out for the last bit of the trip...again without any traffic.  We counted about 36 abandoned cars along the freeway there, which is nothing compared to the hundreds on 290 near highway 6. Anyways, we've been staying at this awesome coffee house here called Blend.  Friends of Brad's have totally opened there arms to us and Karli.  It's been nice.

Last night we joined a small prayer meeting/praise time.  We randomly met this girl who invited us to join her there.  It was sooo amazing.  Only about 8 people were there singing, reading scripture, and praying, but God was filling up the rest of the space there in that warehouse.  This unbelievable feeling of warmth and comfort was washed over me there.
Maybe this verse will help you out somehow...

Proverbs 3:21-29
Never Walk Away
   21Dear friend, guard Clear Thinking and Common Sense with your life;
    don't for a minute lose sight of them.
    22They'll keep your soul alive and well,
    they'll keep you fit and attractive.
    23
You'll travel safely,
    you'll neither tire nor trip.
     24You'll take afternoon naps without a worry,
    you'll enjoy a good night's sleep.
    25No need to panic over alarms or surprises,
    or predictions that doomsday's just around the corner,
    26Because GOD will be right there with you;
    he'll keep you safe and sound.
    27
Never walk away from someone who deserves help;
    your hand is God's hand for that person.
    28
Don't tell your neighbor, "Maybe some other time,"
    or, "Try me tomorrow,"
    when the money's right there in your pocket.
    29Don't figure ways of taking advantage of your neighbor
    when he's sitting there trusting and unsuspecting.
