for the love of fishing

october 11, 2008....

geneO and i headed out for central cal. towards bishop.  it was saturday morning and there were a few white clouds where we were headed.

"I hope it doesn't rain." as i pointed to the clouds ahead and to geneO reply, "nah, those are white clouds those aren't rain clouds."

after a few hours later those coulds started to look gray.  and i said again, "i hope it doesn't rain" pointing to the gray clouds now and geneO reply, "nah, those are just shadows from the mountain."

after taking a few side roads to hit a few rivers for trouts we realized it was pretty cold for an afternoon.  but i figured it would pass because i was thinking the clouds were keeping the temperature down.

after the river we headed up the mt. east sierra where geneO likes to fish.

i noticed my temperature gage started to drop slowly and kept dropping.  i was thinking in my head, "man, its cold out there."  then...

"is that snow!?"  oh my gosh... it was starting to snow.  then it started to get white all around us.  the road, the dirt, the trees... "what the heck are we doing up here!"

figured we went this far i had to see the lake at least.  we finally got there and it was a very nice looking lake, but it was freezing outside.  as i headed back to the jeep...  "dude! look geneO ice sickles."  they were around the fenders of the jeep that surrounded the tires.

i'll tell you about the camping after... yes we went camping outside in the crazy cold.
