6 months

As of today, I have been in San Antonio for six months!  I have enjoyed getting to know my family again and meeting new friends!  Lots of things have happened and life continues to be an adventure!!  JM is still in Houston, enjoying life by working at the restaurant and going to school, Barb loves Baylor and she's doing very well in school and loves the girls of Tri-Delta!!  I miss teaching the kids, I miss my school and miss my church, but I am not missing my husband and I love being with him!

For those of you who dont know, Monty is no longer with the company that brought us to San Antonio.  They have parted their ways..and its okay.  Monty will be working with another company that keeps him in the food business but also allows him to work pretty much for himself and the future looks great!  Just a reminder that we are not in control, God is and He is good!!

something different

I didn't realize it had been so long since posting.  Things have change quite a bit!  We sold the house to a builder who will tear it down and build an unbelievable house in its place!  We took Barb to school, which wasn't too bad to do because she is so very happy!  She loves Baylor, her roommate, and her friends.  Its a good thing!  We moved JM into his own apartment....by himself....and he loves it.  He is enjoying school, enjoying work and enjoying life.  Then, Monty and I packed up, said goodbye to a few people and headed to San Antonio!  So, here we are.  We are leasing a cute house in the middle of SA.  I love the location....close to HEB and my new manicure place and Target is not too far away.  Our backyard is a greenbelt and Jackson has seen has first deer!!  It has been so peaceful drinking coffee on the back porch and listening to the mockingbirds!  Bonnie, I know you could be greatly inspired to write some beautiful poetry while sitting back there!  If only we could get rid of the fireants!!  Monty is happy with his job....he loves doing what he is doing.  And I am still unpacking boxes....I may be for awhile!  But I am also back to working out...which was desperately needed as much for my mind as my body!

So, there you have it in a nutshell.  I thought about saying, "were starting over" or " a new life" but its just "something different."  .............different city, different house, empty nest and no job.  (I let out a little giggle here)  Cant wait to see what tomorrow will bring!!!

and less than 24 hours later.....our house is SOLD!!!

I just gotta say how unbelievable God's timing is!!! (although TRULY believable cuz He IS God!!!)   His hand has been through this entire thing...every detail!  HE REALLY IS IN CONTROL!!!  Praise Him!!!!

later......... oh, and thank you, Lord, for the sunshine!!!

I have been busy the last two months....some of the usual things that a teacher does during the summer....like doctor appointments, dentist appointments....but mostly, I have been busy with my house.  In two months, I have painted two hallways, a bedroom, two bathrooms - the woodwork (which to me is much tuffer), a wall in the living room where my dog tries to get to the mailman (I had to patch the wall first!) and a window sill, I had to wash down the walls in my son and daughter's rooms and the trim!  I cleaned all the woodwork in the pantry/utility room.  I've had to box up "extra" stuff in all the rooms to be stored in the gargage.  I have washed every window that this house has...inside and out!  I have thoroughly cleaned and polished every exposed hardwood floor!  I have cloroxed the kitchen and bathroom floors.  I have taken toilet paper out of the front yard.  I have helped take down a 20 year old fence in the back yard, took all the nails out of the wood and carried the fence to the front for the garbage men to take away!!  And for the life of me...I dont know why, but I tried to dig a trench aound the garage so the water would drain elsewhere...it didnt work.  But today, the first hurdle is over and our house is on the market to sell!!!  I am feeling sad though.  The sign in the front yard says alot to me.  After 19 1/2 years, I am leaving my house, my church, my city, my friends.  But, I will be going to new adventure!  I am going to my husband ( who is very sick of commuting!), my family, and my real hometown where we will move in to a new house where I will paint, clean.....maybe the toilet paper days are over!!!

For now, I need rest.  Pray for someone to buy our house and pay a ridiculous amount!  oops...I have to go paint the front porch swing!

Did you know that if we get one more inch of rain in the month of July, we will replace the record for the 4th largest rain making July in Houston history?  I am sick of rain and dont want to break a record!  We are expecting rain for the next four days!  There is no where else for the water to go!

Today, my realtor was coming to the house to take pictures and put the "for sale" sign in the yard.  I had a little more cleaning to do, but I would have been ready this afternoon.  Unfortunately, we were "wrapped" last night, then it rained.  The yard, the roof and the trees were a mess!  The potato chips spread over the yard was a lovely touch.....I hope that they dont mess up the yard!  I spent the morning outside cleaning up and had to put the realtor off until tomorrow, but he will be out of town until Monday.  So, I can slow down on the inside cuz now I have until Monday!  If YOU are the one that wrapped the house.....wait until you see the "SOLD" sign before it happens again please!

Okay....I'm off to grout the bathtub tile and then to the grocery store!

later......
