summary for today's meeting

hello friends once again,

here's the summary for todays meeting.

Session:	7 (full attendance)
Date/ day:	3rd January 2007, Wednesday

What we did:	-          finalized date / time / venue of next meeting -          Julia gave out printed notes about “odyssey of the mind problems” and “basics about creative problem solving -          Discussed the plotline for the script -          Finalized the list of roles and responsibilities -          Discussed ideas / methods on how to change the appearance of the characters -          Discussed the foldable backdrop idea (lisa)
What we came up with:	-          next meeting: 060107 (sat) 0800hrs pavilion -          plotline for the script (already typed out on the blog) -          finalized list of roles and responsibilities (already on the blog) -          methods on how to change the appearance of the characters: fan idea: strong fan – object on top of the fan “flaps” when it is blown (someone edit this please) idea of mushrooms sprouting out (from the “ground”) – HOW?? Idea of toys popping up when they are moved / rolled (wheels) à similar to mcdonalds toys Idea of inflatable tents à blow air à inflates Idea of using “robotics” methods (gears) Idea of using d & t facilities / materials found in the d & t room to reduce cost (gears) Extendable umbrella cover idea (pull up the cover and it’ll extend à “cups” idea) Curly telephone wire idea (?? … someone edit this part please) Idea of magnets / electromagnetic energy Idea of electromagnetic train (so it can be controlled without having any contact with the train) -          Mad scientists tools / gadgets à idea of instant noodles spoons à open it up and it will “click” -          Suggestion to go to the Singapore Science Centre -          Different story idea: popcorn (global warming à very hot à all the corn “popped” (x omg lol.
Things to do:	-          bring our own toys (for inspiration) -          lisa to bring her mcdonalds toy -          secretaries / leaders to plan outing to the Science Centre -          do research on electromagnetic energy

finalised list of roles / responsibilities

hello friends once again,

here's the finalised list of roles and responsibilities that we have decided on earlier today. some have double-duties. please take note and ensure that you carry out your duties well. thank you.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Group leader : Julia

·        Organizes meetings

·        Liaises with Mr Ho

·        Informs group about om meetings, etc

Secretary: Fuxin + Sarah

·        Keeps group folio

·        Takes down minutes during meetings

·        Updates group members on the group’s progress (table – blog)

·        Plan agenda and timelines

Spontaneous leader / blog manager: Lisa

·        Prepares and leads group in spontaneous problem solving

·        Manages the xanga blog

Treasurer: Chloe + Sarah

·        Keeps record of the expenditure

·        Plans the budget for the long-term problem (including, props, costumes, mechanism, etc.)

Costume i/c: chloe + peixin + fuxin

·        Designs the costumes

·        Makes the costumes

·        Make-up and hair

·        Takes note / reasons for the choice of material

Props i/c: Lisa + Rachel

·        Consultant for props (including no. of props, materials, cost, availability, choice of item, usage, etc.)

Script i/c: Peixin + Rachel + Sarah

·        Works on the script

·        Makes changes to the script every time a new idea is contributed

ok. we had better buck up

things on my mind NOW:

- ummm. lisa are you sure THATS how to get our posts private and stuff??? cuz it sounds complicated. so i shall try something. umm. i ll post two times of the same thing, but one will have the status private and the other public... ( btw if yall havent noticed i changed the public view of our blog. yups.) wait changed my mind. each will have a ps at the bottom stating whether its a public or private yups. i ll see if they end up in the same place or what. yups ok then

- next. if yall STILL dunno, we have a meeting tomorrow at the library. pls be there a 2.00 sharp. thanks we need all the time we can afford to have

- another thing. pls go and read the OM website. its really good. and it has lotsa and lotsa links. if you took only like 20 min to read the webby, then you are on the wrong track. i definitely took much longer than that. and pls pls pls print out anything that you find that can help you. there is definitely a lot. and it can help to deepen our understanding of whatever we are facing. our mentor's notes sure are helpful... but we really need help. pls go print out and pls dont think you dont need to do that either. yups. ( there are really lotsa results if you google spontaneous problem solving... the first one is already very good. if yall wanna save paper... i can be the only one to print out page 10 to 14... cuz we need only one copy of that. i've already printed one copy yups. and if you are worried bout wasting ink... you can use the school printer. yups) oh yar, and pls pls READ!!! theres no point in printing if you do NOT read. it'll be a waste. yups

- hee hee. we need to prac spontaneous. yups IF you are bored at home you can start to practice or something. yups.

sigh. i think this has been stressed enough but i think i will stress it again. we only have so much of time. and lotsa things HAVE to be done within that certain amount of time. we all have to put in our BEST effort, and NOT ride on anyone's back. yups. we must WORK, guys WORK!!! put our noses to the grindstone and WORK!!!

hee hee.

oh and another thing. i was re-reading the notes again.. and this thing just kept sticking in my mind.  theres this part in the notes where it reads "read the Challenge again ... and again... and again. hee hee. those guilty ( me inculded unfortunately... but i'll go read it NOW) of NOT readin your OM problem at least 3 times... pls pls pls do so.
