| *1-year anniversary*
prior to andrew & i's 1-year anniversary, i really wanted to go to sambuca. i've never been there before and i thought it would've been sooo nice if we had a romantic dinner w/ some good live jazz music in the background BUT b/c we had an impulse buy on a wii (which took out a good chuck of our $), we had to cut down on our anniversary dinner cost so i was bummed out. andrew later got an email from texas de brazil (a buy 1 dinner, get 1 free) as an anniversary gift from them to us. since i've never been to a brazilian churrascaria before, we decided to go. all you can eat meat...and for those who know me, that's like my perfect meal.
when we got there, i was in awe of the dining experience. people w/ meat coming up to your tables asking if you'd like to try it out. they had all sorts of meat...lambchops, sirloin, filet mignon, prime ribs, pork, chicken, "daily special" (which was quite yummy), etc. i had to try them all. as the dinner came close to the end, we just had to try out one of their desserts. we made sure we had room for it even though we were pretty full. so we decided to get a banana foster cake w/ some cappuccinos. it was a perfect way to end a good meal...but...
it finally hit us....we were sooo full! and it wasn't a good "oh, i'm so full." it was more like the "omg...i think i'm going to throw-up full." i really thought i was going to throw up right there and then. i quickly asked andrew where the bathroom was because i had to get there asap or else i'm going to cause a huge scene if i ended up puking on the table and andrew would not be a happy camper if i did that. as i quickly yet nonchalantly went towards the bathroom, i was able to burp some which relieved a lot of pressure. i went to the bathroom anyways just in case. in there, i was feeling okay and it was safe to go back out and to leave the nice restaurant.
andrew drove him which was a huge relief b/c i was in no condition to drive. as we were on our way home, the bumps on the road did me no justice. andrew has a truck and those kind of cars aren't smooth sailing. andrew told me that i looked like i was going to labor or something b/c i was controlling my breathing...closing my eyes...had the look of pain in my face...etc. we finally made it home but that was not the end of it...we had to get across the speedbumps in our apartment complex. we had to brace ourselves. as we were going over those bumps, andrew was like "oh no...i'm feeling it now." FINALLY, we parked and we were in the clear so i thought. as i got out of the truck, andrew was behind his truck w/ his head down and he said "i threw up a little." oh mah nah. on top of that, we live on the 3rd floor so we still had another obstacle to get across. once we made it to our door, we were sooo relieved. we just sat on the couch and rested...i didn't want to move around at all.
to make this long story come to a closing, there is a lesson to be learned here. we suffered the consequences of gluttony. though the food was just so amazing...never again we want to eat that much...especially on one of our many anniversaries to come.
THE END
