| Hold the phone!! Something's not right...I was channel surfing and came
across VH1's airing of that R. Kelly "Trapped in the Closet" or
whatever it's called, and I just can't turn the channel! Andrew,
listening to mainstream R&B?! Ahhhhh!!! Maybe I am intrigued by it
because there is actually a point and plot to it, whereas all that
shitty music out right now just seems to 1. sound the same, and 2.
provide meaningless commentary on overly-talked about life "issues."
Hang on...it's getting good. OH SHIT! R. Kelly was fucking around with
this married woman, and the husband came home and caught them, then his
BOYFRIEND shows up!!!! AH! I might as well just get my PJs back on and
settle in...going to be sitting here for awhile.
Finals are finally over. Out of my 5 semesters here at KU, I've never
had a more challenging finals week. Could be due to the fact that 4 of
my 5 finals were on 2 days. And being Monday and Tuesday, that didn't
leave much time for studying. But they're over and done with, and I
think I did well on all of them. Well, we'll see about the Form and
Analysis final. The teacher is about 2349 years old and gives the same
tests every semester, regardless if he covers that material in his
lectures. So there were a few questions that we lightly covered in
lectures, but that were more substantial questions on the test because
he probably made a big deal of that subject back in his Fall of 1898
lecture. Oh well, it's over.
Should be heading back home either tonight or tomorrow. I have a jesus
choir dinner thing tonight that I feel I should be at. Though I don't
necessarily want to attend. But free food, so hey, I'm game.
Friday night, Andy, Brian, Steven Elliott, and I went and saw "King
Kong" at the Prostitot Theatre. If it had been my choice of film, I
wouldn't have seen that...not when "The Family Stone" is out. But, we
saw it anyway, and it was just as dreadful as I predicted it to be.
There is a reason I don't watch movies like that one...*see the reasons
I don't listen to popular shitty music. It was awful. For one, it was 3
hours and 15 minutes long. I felt like I was watching 3 movies in one.
I knew absolutely nothing about the movie prior to viewing it, so I was
wonderfully surprised when I saw Adrien Brody. If he came up to me and
said, "Andrew, let's move away together and get hitched...." I'd be on
the first flight with him. He is amazing. So him being in the movie was
a ray of light at the end of a very, very, very dark tunnel. Perhaps
the most troubling aspects of the movie were the lack of character
development and the constant dragging out of scenes. It felt like one
big run on sentence. (R. Kelly update: I love it how his first reaction
to his current situation is to get a gun out. Do people really do that
shit!? How stupid.)
Alright, enough ranting. Feeling a bit bitchy today. Maybe fiesty is
the more proper term. I should start packing. Lord knows I'll have to
clean my room first and that could take me awhile.

| I do believe it's been a long time since I last posted. Right now I
should be studying for my last final (Form and Analysis tomorrow at
10h30), but I've decided to update my Xanga, watch Top Model (which I
admit, I've not seen too often), and chat with my cousin from North
Carolina.
Albert Herring was awesome.
Such a great cast and great experience. I was sad to see it go. But
alas, with 2 shows next semester and singing on a recital in Feb., I
think I'll survive.
I nearly cried today when one of my roommates, Brad, left to go home to
St. Louis for break. I am ready to be done with classes, but I love
living in Lawrence and seeing my friends everyday. Home will mean lack
of excessive use of the computer and working at the flowershop...which
I'm looking forward to for 2 reasons: money, and who wouldn't love
working with middle aged women arranging flowers?!
I think I've had enough of this single life bullshit though. So if you
or anyone you know isn't trashy...kidding. maybe...ok kidding. But
seriously, I miss having someone.
Anyway, I think I should study for that final now. Then off to Jesus Choir Rehearsal.
A piu tardi.

| Well, it's been a long, long time since I've written anything on this
here xanga deal. I'm in the middle of opera rehearsals for ALBERT
HERRING by Benjamin Britten. It is an incredible experience. The music
is ungodly amazing...Britten is such a smart composer...and the cast is
superb. I'm singing on the Nov. 12th and 19th performances, as a few of
the roles are double cast. Anyway, 785.864.3982...check it out. $7 for
students, $15 for adults.
Things are going well. KU is playing MU today here in Lawrence, so I
plan on staying locked up in my room for most of the day, because
Lawrence will be CRAAAAZY I have a feeling. Stupid rivalries...never
have understood them. Anyway, this is more lame than I thought it was
going to be, so it's time to stop typing. Later~

| My friend Ryan had this on his AIM away message tonight and it really
sums up a lot of my thoughts. Especially certain thoughts about those
silly tattoos that people get of chinese characters, when they don't
even speak chinese. Enjoy!
"Just because your tattoo has Chinese characters in it doesn't make you
spiritual. It's right above the crack of your ass. And it translates to
"beef with broccoli." The last time you did anything spiritual, you
were praying to God you weren't pregnant. You're not spiritual. You're
just high." | | |
| Yay for a fun "small gathering" last night at our humble 921 abode.
Thanks to all that came! What a great belated birthday/apartment
warming party. Hmmmm...time to start the day.
love
Andrew
