Wedding bells!

It seems that Xanga is dying out..There is so much pressure to join this thing called Facebook. I've received 3 invites (Thanks to Ji, Hun Joon, and Brian =) But I just don't know if I'm ready to make that kind of commitment as of yet.

Speaking of commitment and getting to my main reason for this post, a big CONGRATULATIONS to my Oh Bah and Virginia on their engagement! Wish I could have been there in person to celebrate, but was definitely celebrating in my heart. Praise God for bringing together two wonderful people.

Many people have noted that Virginia and my brother look alike. Many people have noted that Virginia and I look alike. Many people used to tell me in college that Jennifer (Virginia's sister) and I look alike. People are starting to say that David and I look alike. A lot of people say my brother and I look alike. Everyone (except my mom and I) says that my brother and my dad look exactly alike. Well, that's it for this section on "Look Alikes."

Also, HAPPY 31st birthday to my one and only!

Working Hard for the Money!

Due to the many complaints and threats on my life that my last entry was, how should I say this...uneventful, I will write another one!

As shown above, the title of this entry is "Working Hard for the Money!"

In this entry, I will talk about my new jobs...

After enjoying about almost 3 months of unemployment, I now venture back into the working world. I begin training for my new job at Pioneers as a part of the phone team that works with their Mobilization department. Pioneers is an awesome missions agency that has a base here in Orlando. For those of you who are consider going into the missions field, check them out: www.pioneers.org. I am definitely excited to be a part in some way of getting more people out to reach the forgotten peoples of the world.

Secondly, I have begun tutoring. My first client is a professional LPGA golfer who is working on improving her English. There are actually lots of Korean pro golfers who call Orlando home. My tutoree is just starting out in the pros. Below is a cute picture of her. Her name is Young Jo.

She's friends with Mi Hyun Kim and Se Ri Park. I didn't know who Mi Hyun Kim was, and Young was shocked. In her exact words, she said, "You don't know Mi Hyun Kim?" I said, "No." She said, "Do you know Se Ri Park?" I said, "Oh yeah, I've heard of her," to which she responded, "but you don't know Mi Hyun Kim?" Apparently, this Mi Hyun girl is pretty good.

Thanks for reading!

Wowsers! It's been about 6 months since my last entry - most definitely time for an update...

I'd like to recommend these two very highly educational and eye-opening movies:

1) A State of Mind - "A British documentary that follows two young North Korean girls as they prepare for the Mass Games, the world's largest choreographed gymnastics performance."
http://www.astateofmind.co.uk/

The footage of the Mass Games in North Korea is incredible, and it gives such an open look into the world of North Korea and their view of the United States and of their own country.

2) Three Needles - "In Thom Fitzgerald’s global triptych, the struggle against the common enemy of AIDS continues around the world, manifesting itself differently by country, by religion, by class, and by gender."

Some of us saw this at the DC Film Fest last year, and the director was there in person to talk about the film and take questions form the audience. He told us that the head nurse at the clinic in South Africa where one scene was shot (the head nurse is actually in the movie) asked the director after the shooting, "So what is this AIDS thing, do people really get it from having sex with monkeys?" Keep in mind that this film was made in 2005.

CHECK THEM OUT!!!

Happy 30th birthday to my dear David!

Ya'll - don't forget to give the brother some love via eprops, text messages, cellular phone calls, high-fives, hugs, pats on the back, thumbs ups, cards, acrostic poems, raps songs, etc.

Mooooooooooovin!

So, little by little I'm starting to pack up for my new life in FL.  It's tougher than I thought it would be...do you think I'll ever need to wear a turtleneck in Orlando?

A few Floridians did tell me that once last year, the weather dropped down to 60 some degrees.  Hmmm...

For all you engaged and married folks out there - check out this book and workbook:

Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts: Seven Questions to Ask Before (and after) You Marry by Dr. Les Parrott III & Dr. Leslie Parrott.  It's very practical and the workbook has useful exercises.  Here's an interesting thought from the book: "The truth is, most engaged couples prepare more for their wedding than they do for their marriage."

Can't say thanks enough to Matt & Dee for their wise and humorous counseling and for their always generous hearts.

Here is a list of the things I'll miss about VA & the things I'm looking forward to about FL:

What I'll miss about VA:

1. Family - DUH!

2. Friends - DUH!

3. Many of the outdoor activities that are easily accessible in VA or nearby states -  hiking, skiing, white water rafting, lazy river tubing, camping, rock climbing, spulunking, cave exploration, deer hunting, duck shooting, etc.  I hope I get a chance to do some of these things again or for the first time ever before October.

I'm sure there's more but these are definitely the top 3.

What I'm looking forward to about living in Orlando:

1. Being in the same place as David for more than a few days.

2. Sharing life with the KPCOers.

3. CRAZY BUFFET!

4. STEAK N' SHAKE!  Although we may not go here as much anymore because one night, David ate there, and he threw up seven times afterwards.

I better learn how to cook!!!
