HEY! I'M UPDATING!!

Wow...it's been such a long time. I don't even really know what to write. I've had my xanga for so long now (854 days) that when I go through my day something will come up and I'll think "I have to blog about this..." but then it seems like so much work to go to the library.

Anyway

We're in DC right now for Caitlyn's high school graduation. I'm feeling a little bummed because every time I've visited here for the past 5 years I've seen my buddy Dan from high school. Now he lives in Portland. My parents finally moved out to Kansas City and my dad will be leaving for Afghanistan in the middle of July. Here is a picture of him after he shot some turkeys.

Eric and I have been trying to get him to push his hats down farther on his head for about 12 years now and it still isn't happening. Is that an ARMY thing or something? Speaking of ARMY when we were on the plane to come here I saw a guy in uniform. You'd think that since I grew up as a military kid that I would know how to tell rank from a uniform. I don't. This guy had a big honking gold ring on so I asked him if it was a Westpoint ring. He glared at me and mumbled "No it's a Sergeant Major ring." Whoops. I felt like such a loser. Oh well.

I'm finished nanny-ing for the year. I'm hoping to get to watch Celia next year too. Overall it was such a great way for me to make a little extra money, but still get to be a mom and do all the things that I like to do during the day.

Here are a few photos:

Look I had another child. Don't I look amazing?! Just kidding. It's my friend Leah's baby boy.

Coffeetalk girls and kids

These are some girlfriends from college and I with our kids. The girl in the pink shirt (Heather) is holding Celia, the baby I took care of.

 Eric and Addison

There's Eric with Addison. It's hard to believe she'll be 1 on Monday!

"That guy could make a fart complicated"

                                            -Uncle Don

"That soulmate stuff is a bunch of bulls**t"

                                             -Uncle Don

I'm sure my brother and Aunt Shel could add more.

Well here I am at the library again. Having the internet at my fingertips for a week was pretty nice, but oh well. Truthfully I'd waste so much time on here and never get anything done. I even downloaded Snood on Aunt Shel's computer. Anyone remember Snood?!! I never got any studying done freshman year at K-State because I couldn't stop playing Snood all the time. It's like Tetris, but even more awesome!

I started nannying for Celia, my friend's 10 week old daughter full-time. It's really hard and tiring, but I am actually really enjoying it. Addison thinks she's another pet and is pretty entertained by her. As you all can probably imagine I get cabin fever REALLY bad and have to leave the house at least once a day. With two little babies it's quite an accomplishment, but fun too. The only non-fun aspect are the comments I get day in and day out from strangers, especially old people. I love Kansans because they (we ) are the friendliest people you'll ever meet, but they are also quite nosy.

"Are they twins?" (because a two month old and a nine month old look sooooo alike)

"Wow, how close together are they?"

I think I'm just going to start saying they are twins, or that I had a double womb and that I was even featured on the Discovery Health channel. heh heh heh...

I'll be nannying until the end of the school year and possibly next school year too, although I'm going to try to convince my friend to stay at home because I don't have that many people to hang out with around here during the day.

ANYWAY

Amanda had a baby yesterday. You got it, baby number three! His name is Bradley Jacob and he was an 8 pounder. She had a c-section, so there's no doubt he's cute (no squished head and bruised face). I'm excited for her.

American Idol

I was glad Chris got kicked off American Idol. He had a lisp and I found it to be rather irritating. I'm still rooting for Gina because I think she has a killer voice. I also like Blake, but who doesn't? Devin thinks that Phil looks like a troll and I must agree.

Did I tell you guys that my dad is going to Afghanistan in July? I can't remember if I did or not. He volunteered to go for a year, which I think is pretty amazing considering he only has one year left in the Army. They bought a house in Shawnee so my mom will be close. I'm proud of both of them: my dad for going and my mom for being so supportive of him. I must admit that if Devin volunteered to go I'd have a pretty hard time with that.

Anyway, that's enough for now. I'll send some pictures with Devin to update.
